This game has aged so well. The transition from the opening sequence to the first level with actual gameplay still oozes with atmosphere. The gameplay is fluid. Everything works fine and is fun. Many magic moments for instance when you encounter the first combine. Also the music is great!
Everything in this game feels earned. You have a lot of freedom in how you solve different situations. Often there is more than one way and that really immerses you into the game. At least I stopped caring about the graphics after 15 minutes of playtime. This game treats you with respect. Like you are an actual human beeing with a brain.

Two minor things that bothered me, which can't be excused with age:

-The game has a big focus on going through ventilation shafts. The flashlight is completely bugged in there. No matter how you move the mouse the beam is all over the place, so you often can't see clear.

-The NPCs who you can get to follow you easily get stuck, which results in me not using them anymore, because it feels like luring a cat to it's box so you can drive it to the vet.

Both of these "problems" can surely be fixed with mods if they really annoy you and they don't take anything away from the game.

Everyone knows the singleplayer is a masterpiece. But man the online mode.....

♥♥♥♥ you Daybreak

This game is filled with interesting ideas, the so called "important questions" of the zombie apocalypse. Sadly the execution is done very poorly. It's hard to immerse yourself with the bad graphics, the clunky controls and all the glitches. But reading both interviews with the developers and news about the game, i'm confident, that they will do WAY better with State of Decay 2.

The first step to killing Fallout. Fallout 3 is a mile better than this and Fallout New Vegas f*cks all of Bethesdas games.

Still, I can't say that I didn't enjoy myself. I liked the exploration and there's a lot of interesting fun locations, and quests. So it's still better than most other games.

Why I like this game, despite the fact that they took the RPG out of the ARPG, by ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the Dialogue system and forcing us to be a dad looking for his son.

-Gearing (Armor pieces, Power Armor scale and authenticity)
-Performance
-Graphics (You need weather mod to get rid of the blue skies. This is FALLOUT!)
-Animations
-More interesting World than Fallout 3's
-Still got good Music, if not the best of the series
-Characters (Than Fallout 3)

Love it. Just sad that it's so Cheater infested. Watched every demo of suspicious players, got very blatant ones, reported them. Were never banned.

It's probably the top of my 9 games that I love. No other game does what DayZ does. None. Your own creativity is your limit!

+An immersive world
+Finally well implemented survival mechanics
Everythings smooth from eating to cooking to hunting
+Guns are so well implemented compared to before
+Framerate is finally solid, no matter where you are
+Stamina system without infinite sprinting makes chasing people possible now
+Loot spawning in clothing etc. adds immersion
+Zombies now spawn actually useful gear like heat packs, food, can openers and the sort
+PvE stuff is motivating enough to actually want to flee to the country side and survive and live. (Coming from a hardcore PvP player here)

-Zig Zagging from left to right is retarded and unrealistic
-Player models need work, reactions to getting hit and some such
-Disgustingly clunky melee gameplay, maybe worse than in 2014
-God awful zombies with bad path finding and horrendous AI
