NieR: Automata is a unique game. Coming from a strong love of the original NieR and even enjoying the Drakengard series quite a bit, NieR: Automata surprised me. On the surface it is a hack-n-slash top-down shooter with an story of robots but like all of Yokotaro`s works, the level of detail and the deep themes make this game all the more worth it. Especially considering it takes three playthroughs just to get the full story! If you love hack-n-slash shoot-em-ups and a deep and personal story, this game is the one for you. Well worth a play!
