I bought this game on day one of its release and so far this game has given me quite a few issues. From constant audio buzzing/stuttering every 8-15 seconds (I fixed this by reinstalling on an SSD), to getting stuck in a black screen with only the game audio, to enemies attacking me from inside the ground, to the enemy AI getting confused in corners, to not being able to start the first Timed Spirit Trial because it refused to even begin the race countdown. I encountered numerous game-breaking bugs within the first 1-2 hours of playing this game that I'm sure would turn a lot of people away after purchasing.

However... none of these occurred more than once, and despite all the day one bugs and all of the glitches, every hour past that was amazing. The music is indescribable. I might be going a bit over the top by saying this, but I really feel words couldn't do it justice. The music is better than the first which I thought would be an impossibility. The visuals are beyond beautiful, the platforming movement is incredibly satisfying, and the world has clearly been handcrafted with extreme care from top to bottom. As someone who tends to be very frugal with their money, this game was worth every single cent.

I can honestly look past those bugs because not only did they not reoccur but I know those can and will be fixed. Sure, it might've been a nuisance at first, but when you look at the game that resides underneath, it's really a masterpiece.

Brawlhalla is worth every penny. Wait, it's free? Scratch that... Brawlhalla is worth everything you have in your wallet (assuming your wallet isn't empty). The best part is that this game is 5% luck, 95% skill, and 0% P2W. The developers at Blue Mammoth Games are incredibly interactive with their player base and actually listen to the suggestions that their players give over on the Brawlhalla subreddit. Brawlhalla has an awesome community! Although many people do get angry when they lose, that's to be expected in an 'adrenaline-pumping' fighting game like this. This game is incredibly easy to pick up, but hard to master, and that's the beauty of it! I highly recommend this to anyone who likes reactive/fast-paced games!

Edit: Looking back at this a year later, this review is cringey as balls. But I still stand by what I said.

Edit 2: Two years later and... I don't think I agree with what I said anymore. It's fun at a casual level. But it's not without many, many flaws. The devs are very friendly, but their responsiveness to the playerbase seems very limited in the facets that actually matter.

Edit 3: Three years later. is gud 👌
