I initially was introduced to this game when Tomato streamed a bit of it. I thought that it looked neat so I gave it a try.
I've been stunned at just how fun of an experience this has been.
I've played through one or two major balance patches and the game just keeps pulling me in.
This game really feeds into my loot goblin sensibilities.
That all being said, this is a brutal game where you can go from feeling like Doomguy to getting kicked while you are down again and again.
I'm not ashamed to admit I'm a dirty cheater who will ALT+F4 to save progress.
It's just how I like to enjoy my games sometimes.

I enjoy the vision the Devs seem to be putting out for the progress of the game and I'm excited to see what 1.0 looks like.

And for the love of god people, stop screaming in the Steam threads about the game being bad when you die in a run; print a new PMC and get back in there.

It will never not be funny to:
Watch a coworker jump into the void with an audible "oh"
Watch the sole survivor not realize the Bracken is running up behind them.
Watch a coworker scream at the thumper from a railing with a shovel.
Play this game with friends.

I love how the right RNG can turn a good run into a god run for just about any character. Birdboi OP, Birdboi forever.

I didn't expect to love this game as much as I do now.
The boss fights felt so smooth, were rewarding, and had great music to them.
Worth the pain of repeated deaths for a perfect boss fight.

I started playing this at the mindset of having as perfect a run as possible, to do my best, to not mess up. That was a mistake and I almost stopped playing the game because of the first time I messed up.
This game is just plain fun to run through. Explore the land, do quests here and there, collect upgrades, see the slimes, and min/max production to no end :)

Launch the game expecting to have a fun and calming experience, and that's what you'll get.

This is a great game to drop a bunch of time into, lots of fun. The only sad part is the crazy amount of time and XP it takes to reach level 100. You are looking at ~800 hours of gameplay to reach that point on average.

Overall it's a blast to race through this game.

Here's a few things I wish I was told when I started this game:
-The "boost start" timing is half a second before the lights turn green. Couldn't get that one down until I was already level 15.
-Be sure to double check your graphics settings so they don't get auto-lowered. That being said I have 10 hours in on the lower graphics settings and barely noticed.
-The difference between easy and normal is definitely noticeable, but I do recommend playing on normal (the middle difficulty).
-There are shortcuts.
-Don't be a spaz when trying to trigger the moves/emotes. Especially on a steam controller.

The game consists of a couple game modes, 9 AMAZING maps, several vehicles, personal skill upgrades, vehicle upgrades, and a campaign that tweaks the difficulty up as you go through it.
I do need to stress that even though they only have 9 maps I never got tired of them, they look amazing even at low graphics setting levels.
For the completionists the last few levels consist of all game modes, all maps, and all of the toughest opponents, and by that point of the game it will kinda feel like a slog to get through; At least it was for me. Other than that it's looking pretty easy to go through and get all the achievements.

This game is simply beautiful. You get dropped in with almost no context and that's all you need to enjoy where it takes you. Exploring is very rewarding. I played through it twice, the second for achievements, and it was great both times.

I'll just say it: This game is beautiful and it will make you care.
I just got done 100%-ing the game and these last 9.1 hours I've been more invested in the story than I've been in any game for a while.
I was on the verge of tears at a few scenes.
I definitely recommend dropping a some money and hours on this game.

I don't fully understand why I enjoyed the game as much as I did. If I had to guess its probably the way the game plays. The game isn't slow, doesn't have overly complicated objectives, and just ads a few quality tweaks to a common formula for this genre.

I'd recommend this just because its a simple fun game.
