Calling this the best devil may cry game is an understatement - this is easily the best game I've ever played. The sound design is killer, hitting enemies feels so good, and when you get hit, it doesn't feel like you're out of the fight just yet. The way that the music increases in intensity as you increase your combo is a serious dopamine rush.

the fact that you can actually beat urizen at the beginning of the game and completely undercut the entire story is pretty funny

When you finally play as wacky woohoo pizza man, and regain all of the experience with him that you built over the previous games you played as him, you can easily get SSS in almost every encounter.

V's story is really fun to uncover. His gameplay can be hit or miss, though. He is extremely challenging to play and a fresh take on how you normally play the game.

Playing as vergil is great, his insane power is felt just by playing him. His skill ceiling is extremely high, despite being easy to pick up and play. Bury the light is such a good song. His DLC is well worth the price, even if he has no story just like DmC 3.

Definitely very fun, but certainly no beat saber. Definitely not the game for perfectionism, as notes aren't quite perfectly synced up to the music.

HOWEVER

It's absolutely stupid how fun it is to slam drums to viking metal as you get your dwarves to row as far as possible. This is one of the most fun experiences I've had in a game, but I have not touched many rhythm games before so take that with a grain of salt.

also make sure you stay hydrated and get a proper, hygenic VR cover as this game will make you sweat.

The single most immersive experience I've had playing a video game. The best part of the game is the combine combat sections, and they're insanely tense. The game is 90% exploration and 10% actual fighting.

The environment is insanely interactable; you'll quickly find yourself pulling open drawers, knocking things off shelves, and checking every nook and cranny you can in order to find ammo and resin (upgrade currency).

It's a worthy addition to the half-life series.

This game does not work out of the box.
Things that are broken:
  • Since the grip with the knuckles controllers is different, aiming is angled incorrectly. Bows are especially difficult.
  • Since the threshold for grabbing is so low, you get sticky hands, e.g. if you try to throw a ball, the throw is delayed so long that an overhand throw just throws it at the ground.
  • Oven mitts for hands, 2 fingers are enough for a full grip.

even if this game had no bugs, it would still suck

•the balancing is ♥♥♥♥, some classes and vehicles are very clearly WAY better than others
•The attention to detail & graphical fidelity is worse than battlefield 4
•missing core features, like a scoreboard and VOIP

Ultimately, Superhot: MCD is just Superhot with MORE of everything. The new core abilities lead to awesome scenarios where you have to think your way out. The turn-based first person shooter system really works, and this is the logical extension of that.

And that's okay.

It's an amazing game, the pacing makes it really easy to get entranced with it.

For $20, you will not regret your purchase.

Upgrading has the ability to change your entire playstyle. You go from sneaking around enemies and battling through, to managing your battery, trying to cloak past enemies as you encounter them, but taking cover before it runs out.

My most fun experience was carrying a turret throughout an entire level and rampaging through everything, I felt more emotion than I would like to admit when I threw an EMP and destroyed it on accident...

One flaw, though, is that you go from exploring everything to just rushing through and taking the quickest route to get it over with near the end of the game.

the game absolutely hates me, I guess.

In my first few hours I have encountered:
Stretched polygons that extend out of the map boundaries and make it hard to see past
HUD bugs (sometimes, things stretch far out of the selection wheel to the point of being hard to make out)
A crash when going to a new location, where I had to end it in task manager

I've never played a buggier game.
I'm not going any further in the game.

On top of that, Square Enix has the nerve to charge you microtransactions for praxis kits, a feature that's supposed to create a natural form of progression, like in Human Revolution, where they are rare and a welcome surprise when you do find one through exploration.

a really good game, but not really worth the money. Only worth it on a sale.

I definitely don't regret the purchase, it's a really good 7 hours, but it really leaves you wanting more. Replayability, even with scores, is pretty lacking.

Yakuza Kiwami 2 isn't quite like the previous Yakuza games.

For example, the combat system is completely revamped, and to be honest, I don't like it.

but that's not what Yakuza is about. The minigames are almost doubled, and all existing minigames have gotten a significant upgrade and they're all super fun, way more fun than Kiwami 1 and Yakuza 0.

The story, despite being dull at times, has a super strong ending.

Also, the majima saga is honestly great, despite being very short.


Why is the combat system bad?
Although you are now able to charge moves whenever, and it leads to a really dynamic counter-attack system.

But the fact that Yakuza is an easy game really rears its ugly head. Kiwami 2 is probably one of the easiest games I've played, not just in the Yakuza series. All you have to do to beat the game is spam down healing items, which are handed to you like candy. I really wished that Legend mode was given to you from the start, as "hard" is still super easy.

Majima construction is super fun though, and it is still worth the price, despite the price hike
