Honestly, I quite like what we've got so far here. Deffo needs more guns, more toys, more maps, etc., but what's here is pretty solid.

Except when I hear the enemies 400 miles away in my brain case anyway. Why is it always the metal towers?

Enemy pathfinding and AI needs love too. I have yet to see any AI climb stairs to find me after spotting me on a roof/upper floor/etc. Let's see some flanking, maybe some blind-firing (I'd LOVE to see them suppress me while their pals move in). Gimme grenades too. Please. I'm begging you.

I'm kinda just prattling on here, but I DO enjoy what we've got and what it could be, and for this price? And a distinct lack of PvP shenanigans to balance for? I'm in, baby.

Definitely a fun experience, but holy GOD does it need some optimization. Like, bad. I'll get 60fps in some places, then the game decides it just wants to run at 10fps for several minutes cuz it's moody or something.

Also getting shunted into the earth by a stationary car is a sign that it also needs some other fixes yet too.

It's ambitious, so I expect issues, but I don't _excuse_ issues.

Also, while it's not planned, having some proper ability to just do a private chase with any number of folks wouldn't be a bad idea. The game is USD$35, at a price that steep there's very little excuse. I understand the main lifting is done via dedicated servers elsewhere, but to me that says "this game will die eventually, and the $35 game will simply stop working at some future date."

Not necessarily worth the price of admission, so I'm glad a friend got it for me. Otherwise, I DO look forward to what this game might bring.

Basically Outbrk but the lite version. There's no real challenge to finding tornadoes, and that's fine if you just wanna ♥♥♥♥ around sometimes.

Needs a MUCH larger map at the moment, some proper storm mechanics (the wind changes are...uh...interesting) and a bit of optimization, but otherwise it's still fun to just turn your brain off and get your house torn apart by a pretty neat-lookin' EF3+.

For ten dollas, it's worth it.

This thing needs quite a bit more time in the oven, for sure. Most of the perks are borderline useless, and the game itself is...a LITTLE janky.

The idea itself is good, and I can see the pieces of a fun game here, but a lot of choices don't really make sense to me. Perks are the top of that list easily, snowmobiles run through fuel way too quickly (have you ever ridden one? That fuel can last a WHILE).

It's a personal nitpick that ammo is a bit TOO scarce, honestly. I understand the decision, but when your only option is to run from creatures that are generally as fast as you or faster after you've spent your two bullets, it can get a little dull.

tl;dr: Game has all the pieces to be good, but some of those pieces are misshapen right now and need to be fixed. Fair enough for the price, but I do regret getting it for now.

Ditch the AI garbage and it'll get better.

For now, it's not bad. Get it on a sale, or avoid entirely if you, too, are sick of AI ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.



[EDIT]: Apparently, AI isn't used in this game according to the developer. Seems to just be amateur voicework, so that's my mistake.

The upside to it being voiced DOES mean that they'll improve, and I get to wish them well on their future work!

I DO still recommend the game. I'd like to be able to do more, but that's just me expecting more from a tavern sim that ALREADY does more than just be a tavern sim.

The always-online nonsense is a BIG problem that developers should have learned by now. It's only been an example _too many times_.

Beyond that COLOSSAL annoyance, though, the game is honestly a ton of fun.

This is very zen. I love it.

It needs a bit more meat on the bones, but it's still good as is. I'm looking forward to what the future is gonna bring to the game.

If Phasmophobia is that friend who just walks quietly and scares the ♥♥♥♥ out of you by accident, Demonologist is that friend who grabs you by your shoulders, shakes you, yells in your ear, then claims you were scared when all you actually did was roll your eyes.

What I'm saying is it's genuinely trying too hard to "scare" you. It's upsetting because it's not a bad game, I DO recommend giving it a go, but just be warned that it seems like the game is so insecure about itself that it has to be loud, annoying, and in-your-face about the 'scares' that it ends up just being loud and annoying after a bit of playtime.

Take it in small chunks of playtime, and you might be alright.
