Is the game fun? Sort of.

In my first hour of play, I had the following happen:
- Twice using my 2 ability as Pyro locked me out of all controls except movement and interaction until I talked to an NPC later on.
- My UI completely disappeared until I changed the window from Windowed Fullscreen to Fullscreen then back again.
- I was kicked for a "Security Violation," then upon return I had a new helmet equipped that I neither equipped, looted, or bought.
- A variety of other smaller bugs, such as loot not picking up/not giving me the option to pick up.

Other grievances:

- The voice acting is, for the most part, pretty bad. There's some good line delivery, and a LOT of bad line delivery.
- Enemies are unnecessarily spongy, which wouldn't be _much_ of a complaint if there weren't so many dudes thrown at you. Maybe this is an early-game, 3-player thing?
- The story is typical Squeenix fare here, which is to say "you're working your way up to fight god yet again." This is definitely more of a personal point, I'm just tired of seeing the same story with different faces.

But Verg, you've played for 4 hours, that's 3 more than your first hour despite the problems. What gives?

If you play games with friends, anything can be fun. Also the guns sound pretty satisfying for the most part. Abilities are pretty neat _when they work_. I can't recommend the game though. The problems and bugs are just too much. Maybe if the game was $15-$20 I could, but not at full price. Not by a longshot. That said, if you can have a laugh at the bugs while knowing there's more bugs waiting, you can still have a good time like I am.

Devs may be slightly confused as to what constitutes a "good" ending.

Perfect 5/7, would definitely have my heart ripped out of my chest again.

It's good. It's scary. You'll probably need some new pants after a run or two.

Seriously, grab some friends and dive in.

It's crazy fun a-la Smash Brothers. If that's your thing, download this and have at it. Seriously, it's a blast, especially so with friends.

Worth noting you get gold in the game which can be used to buy heroes, or you can outright buy all the heroes!

Cosmetics are cash-only, but are ONLY cosmetics.

It's a blast. It really bloody is.

I had fun initially, but with the recent drama coming up (the Devs being unwilling to pay an artist that worked on their game, despite the work being done already) and the fact that the Dev uses some derogatory terms to describe an artist that poured hours upon hours daily into the game, I cannot recommend it.

Irresponsible devs, untrustworthy devs, it's just not something I wanna support. If I could get a refund, I certainly would without hesitation. Instead, I have to settle for warning other users that this Dev may not ever deliver the game if they can't even pay their artist.

EDIT: News of a turnaround happening reached me after work this morning (Feb 9th). I would advise anyone to keep an eye on the matter, forums and on Steam, and see if things change for the better or whatever other news might turn up.

EDIT THE SECOND: Not concerning Devs, but I can't possibly support the sort of behavior that is outright PROMOTED within the discussions either. And this time I do have proof to supply that should remain for a long time:

http://puu.sh/n337M/82f200acd2.png <-- this opening post is in direct violation of Steam's Discussion Rules and Guidelines. Several users are called idiots in the OP, and comments within encourage harassing these users in-game. This topic has been reported numerous times, but has only been locked (it should be removed entirely).

As if that wasn't disgusting enough, we have two screenshots of a MODERATOR, a person who is there to uphold the community and discussion rules and guidelines, saying the following:
http://puu.sh/n3396/7da633450b.png
http://puu.sh/n33ak/623b64ef64.png

Look at those posts and you tell me if you genuinely believe this is a community you want to play with, much less support? The moderator promoted the harassment, name-calling, and the bullying of these users. That is not what a moderator should be doing in any capacity, and further this moderator actually promotes public shaming. This is genuinely disgusting to me.

I'll keep updating my review as more ♥♥♥♥ hits the fan.

EDIT THE THIRD: The artist is working with the Devs again, so my first misgivings can be ignored for the time being. Of course, this opens a whole new can of worms, but with nothing to go on, it isn't worth really discussing that at this time.

The moderator nonsense, however, is still a fun topic.
