A charming, fun and addictive inventory management game with a few bugs absolutely ruined by the addition of a character with deck building mechanics so bad it sours the whole experience.

I bought this as a huge WH40K fan and this being the first game set after the new story events. I have only played the campaign and that's all I will comment on.

Campaign is frustrating, unfair, and tedious.

Difficulty is incredibly inconsistent even when fighting a single faction. The pace of the realtime game is glacial and cutscenes are unskippable. Admiral Spire is required for every story mission even when it doesn't say so in the description (yet other missions do list the requirement in the description - why the inconsistency?) meaning turns are wasted moving Spire all over the place.

Lots of mechanics are poorly explained, not explained at all, or the explanation is wrong.

The fleet and leadership capacity limits are annoying but made especially so when the reinforcement order is seemingly random.

Update:
~100 hours in and with much use of the save editor https://ad.gamersky.info/@steamcommunity.com/app/573100/discussions/0/1741106440022647525/ it is fun. Can still be tedious and a slog but it is fun.

Would tentatively recommend.

Super Amazing Wagon Adventure TURBO is the new Steam release we have all been waiting for. Sick chiptunes and roguelike gameplay ensures you will be entertained until you get frustrated at how much you suck at roguelikes and quit. But you'll keep coming back, you just can't get enough. Unlockable wagons, unlockable arenas, secret areas. What is stopping you? Buy it today!

Retro-graphics haters probably want to avoid this.

With a brilliant soundtrack and beautiful art style Bastion is an immediately charming game. The unique and detailed voice over narration helps to draw the player into the story further.

It has a varied selection of weapons as well as a item upgrade system which never feels like it requires too much repetition to complete. In addition, the arena challenges, shrine handicaps, character buffs, and New Game+ mode aid completion of all items and overall replayability.

The gameplay reminds me of 2D Legend of Zelda, although Bastion feels faster paced and can require faster reactions for dodging or blocking attacks.

Wow this game. What seems like a simple app-like 'burn things' game turns out to be surprisingly poignant and the somewhat secret ending segment is an entirely different game. Also has a very good, if limited, soundtrack.
