What the f*ck did i just play?
Get it on a sale pls, too expensive for what you get :)

This game is a whole lot of one thing and that is it.

Visual style and art direction are second to none. Extremely stylised and gorgeous to look at.
From the characters, bosses and the environments, this game is a treat to look at,

That is where the good things stop.
THE most one dimensional combat system I've had the displeasure of playing. Mash attack, dodge, repeat. There is no variety, no combos, no interesting weapons/tools. It got boring so so quick.

The gameplay loop is also pretty bland. Walk around, hit some waves of enemies, go next.
This may sound like every action game ever but there is something missing from this game.
Anything, literally anything else, added to this game to make it slightly more complex would have been a huge improvement.
Whether that is variations to combat, enemies or puzzles/environments.

Its a shame because the game itself is beautiful but still feels like a massive piece is missing.

Banger games just have a knack at finding me.
Amazing game and an amazing experience.
Short but sweet; no jumpscares so don't worry about the 'horror' tag. Its more atmospheric than scary.

Easily THE most bizarre game i've ever played

Fantastic DLC. Harder than the base game but every FromSoftware DLC is always more challenging. Nothing new here.

The difficulty doesn't bother me. I fear that people are tunnel visioning onto the "review bombing" of this DLC because its 'too hard' but the main issue that is being glossed over is that it runs awfully.

Thats my major issue with this DLC and an issue that is shared by many others. Performance issues are rife in this new area/patch. Im sure it will get better, like the base game did, but right now, I cannot recommend it in this state.

TL;DR: DLC is hard, thats fine. However, runs like doo doo.

EDIT: Yes, not everyone is having performance issues. But that does not mean that they aren't happening to a larger than acceptable amount of people. People who have systems that are a lot more powerful than the recommended specs listed.

Calling this game a "really good survival horror game with a retro art style" barely scratches the surface of what this game is and offers.

Its biggest appeal, for me, was its unravelling narrative and the aneurysm inducing interpretation of it.

The reviews are pretty spot on though; the entire plot stems from a lesbian robot love affair.

EDIT: The more I discover about the plot and it's meanings, the more impressed i become that this web of complexity and interpretation can be constructed by two people only. What an accomplishment. It may seem confusing at first, but if you're a perceptive individual (or watched a two hour youtube video breaking down the plot) it all falls into place delicately.

Truly understanding the plot of this game has superseded this game above my initial thoughts of it upon completion and now i will gush about it to anyone who will listen :)

very few games have had this effect on me. The need to tell other people about the game, not necessarily for the moment-to-moment gameplay, but for the overarching story and art direction that deserves your time and attention. This is now one of them alongside Soma and Disco Elysium.

Good game; Terrible fallout

Easily THE most accessible "Vampire Survivors" like game out there right now.

Not only is it not an eyesore to look at but it controls and feels so much more polished than any other game i've played in this new genre. The hit sounds are beautiful.

You can even change small things like enemy damage, number and speed AND it does not affect your achievements.

For the price, this is a STEAL

Like i said, The most accessible "vampire survivors" like game...
