Hidden Gem

A friend bought this game for me and I will be forever grateful.

SOMA is a narrative masterpiece. The story is phenomenal and fills you with existential dread every step of the way;
It questions the meaning of humanity and if humanity can be replicated through other mediums. The game constantly wrestles with these ideas so if its something that even sounds remotely interesting to you then play the game without delving and further into any review or youtube video.

The game is best played with no knowledge with what to expect. If you're scared or hate stealth horror games there is a 'SafeMode' which turns off the monsters and turns the game into a creepy walking sim instead of a stealth horror.
I personally despise horror games but kept the game in classic mode, its not that scary but to each their own.

Whatever way you decide to play it, it is certainly worth your time. Literally a masterpiece

So, I was pretty hesitant buying this game because of all the controversy around this game but i decided to pick it up on a sale.

Sure, the game is repetitive and I was waiting for when the boredom would settle in as I played but i didn't get bored at all.
I enjoyed this game a lot more than i predicted and waited to get bored of it but that never happened. (im in the epilogue).
There's just something satisfying and fun about running around and cleaving high level captains or taking them for your own army.
Very happy with my purchase :)

All reviews say that this isnt a game for people who crave constant action and i agree with them.
I am mainly and FPS player but still enjoyed all of my time with this game, it was fun learning new skills as Henry did; I loved that fact that Henry was a nobody and that he had to work for where he got.

The game itself is great but i cant play it anymore because of the performance, its gotten to the point where i dread going back to some areas such as the main town because it kills my FPS and gives me headaches.

Real shame that the optimisation and the performance has stopped me playing more of this game :(

Havent enjoyed a singleplayer game to this extent since The Witcher III. Took a while for me to grasp the concepts and mechanics due to the fact i had never played a turn based RPG before but once I got used to it i couldnt stop playing.

Highly Recommended!

No it wont, when the developers care more about fellatiating streamers instead of fixing their performance and servers.

They keep on adding in new weapons and such which is GREAT but the game looks and runs like ♥♥♥♥ that you cant enjoy it.

The spectating camera is desync-y as hell and doesnt show the correct thing half the time

The zeroing is a uselss feature

Camping is incentivsed unless you play first person

First person is gawd awful with the performance, it makes your eyes bleed. Also it doesnt help that your character is like 4 foot 3 in first person mode.

I would forgive it if it wasnt as successful as it is now but with the success it has recieved, there is no excuse anymore.

Fun game, crap performance, over rated.
