A game with multiple complex systems which is not broken at launch is a breath of fresh air in the current state of game releases.

Its like they combined Fallout + Rust + Satisfactory + Pubg + a few other games and made it all into one big game and removed all the issues of those games so everything works as intended. They have tons of small QoL things in the game from launch, which usually takes other devs years to put in the game.

I have played a lot of warzone, specially plunder and dmz.. and that itself is so much content and so much fun. Sure the game crashes sometimes and has hackers but that's not new, that is in every game. The multiplayer paid part of the game also has so many good game modes and zombies is just so much fun !! I guess the bad reviews were expecting too much from the game. Just play to have fun and you will enjoy so many different game modes. (I do not play BR at all, not a fan of BR games)

I absolutely love this game. But I am rating this game 1/5 and not recommending anyone to play it in its current state. Game should have been released after 1 more year of open beta testing. We are currently beta testing a fully released game. If I upvote this game, I would be telling the gaming industry that this is ok. IT IS NOT OK .

1 year EDIT: Its been an year and the game has improved by a LOT! There is still a long road ahead, but if the dev team keeps up in this direction, this has the potential to become the 'main' game for many players. [Changed my recommendation and rating after 1 year to positive]

EDIT: 1st expansion 2023
So they fix up all the progression issues which we went through in 2 years, add a basic feature like mount, edit an already existing zone and then ask as to pay the full game price again to play it. This is nowhere close to what an expansion is. It was maybe ok to charge a small dlc price for it. You are already charging players for cosmetics and convenience in game which is fine.

Here is whats more interesting, if you were to buy the full game now with the expansion it would be cheaper. Since when is it okay, that people who stood by the game through all the bugs and low pop get to pay double. Whereas if you are new you get a discount when buying both game and the so called expansion.

EDIT 2024: Welp.. This turned out to be a scam. Just a different kind of scam. One where game exists and you play for 2 years and then they scam you with fake dlc's while you smoke that hopium copium.

One of my fav card games.

tried this game with family sharing. Played for 12 hours straight and then bought the game to continue playing. I dont remember what day of the week it is. One of the best time killers for those stuck in Corona.

EDIT 2023: this game is now full of esp bots. almost every group has a cheater now. Forget playing, cant even watch your favorite streamer because they keep getting cheated on and wipe ruined. At this point I would say the game's economy is running on coping players and cheaters. All those game copies being sold over and over again to hackers. Time to let this game go :)

Old Review:
Let me start of this review by stating one very important thing. SSD is a must have component for a gaming pc, specially for open world games. Most negative reviews are saying it takes a long time to join the game. If you play any open world games, and you dont have SSD then you cannot play properly. Trust me, you should cut down on your gfx budget and get a SSD. It makes all the difference.

Now about the actual game. This game requires time.. a lot of it. The community is not friendly, its the most Hardcore PvP game out there. Its brutal and if you don't have persistence, you will eventually loose or get frustrated.

Gaming is supposed to be fun and This game is for those who enjoy killing people, grinding, and then loosing what you just grinded for 2 hours. IF and only IF you can find fun in games like those, then Rust is for you.

Ohh.. and did I mention, this game requires a lot and lot of your game time. You might have to play this game 12 hours a day. Without persistence, you achieve nothing in this game.

One of the best gameplay experiences, in any game ever. Its smooth, hardly any bugs for an early access game and has enough replay value. If you are a fan of wild west type of movies or guns, you will absolutely love this game. With the price in my region this game is worth every cent xD

Arma+CS but better. First time playing a battle royale style game. Had heard a lot about the mod in Arma and H1 also, but I was usually playing epoch or other mods. I havent been able to stop playing this game in last 3-4 days since I got it. It gives me the feel of the old cs 1.6 that I have played more than 4000Hours. Graphics or nothing shiny in this, but the gameplay is Spot ON! For me this game is like the perfect blend of Arma and cs. Both of which I have been playing a lot. For me this is the game of the Year ! But wait, its still in early access. Imagine where this game would be an year from today. The reputation of the developer behind the game is already well know. If you read my review this far, dont think anymore, Just BUY it !!

Edit: 1000Hours into this game now and its still fun to play with friends, and with the new maps coming, it will get even better.

I have never written a bad review for any game but this game has forced me to do so.

This game is DEAD. RIP. I have played YEARS of dayz and all its mods on Arma 2. and even that was 3 years ago. Standalone just made money on the hype of the mod. All they did was skin the original game and removed most of the features.

So this is now just a running simulator with nothing to do once you spawn in. 3 years of development and instead of simply recreating a game they removed stuff from it and gave it nice graphics . A game is much more about gameplay than just graphics. This is more like a frustration than a review so anyone reading this i'd suggest to go read some other review, as this might not be helpful. Players like me are just angry because we had so many memories attached with this game, so many friends from around the world. We would still be playing Arma 2 mods if they didnt f*** everything up by bringing out the so called standalone. Killed an entire community, made money and then left.
