I'm playing with my status online, I play huniepop in front of my steam friends. I neva be ashamed of huniepop, my friends be textin me and ill be matchin 3 to date a milf, thats me bruh, thats how i get down around my steam friends. I try to keep they purity, I don't wanna take their purity away by hiding my status they gonna be ashamed to hide their status, and I'm pure at heart. So you can think in yo mind if I start playing huniepop I'm gonna have to change the way I am so that my steam friends can be comfortable around me? No I'm gonna be playing huniepop as ♥♥♥♥ in front of my steam friends, my friend comes up and texts me asking why im playing huniepop, I tell him im jerking it.

let them cook. this game could be great, but it's got a couple issues that i imagine will be smoothed out in updates to come.

item number first: THE DOGS. i have never encountered a more frustrating video game enemy. tiny, impossible to hit and almost unkillable with the game's dubious hitreg (we'll get to that), the dogs are guaranteed to be the thing that ends your best runs. they're by far the most common enemy across the game's regions, and they just. do not. stop. lunging. they wing themselves around the screen and immediately jump at you again right after they land. it makes for deeply frustrating and unrewarding combat and is a serious balancing issue.

item number second: the hitreg. with the idea in mind that enemies take variable damage depending on where you hit them, it seems like the hitreg is very fickle with where it wants to say you hit an enemy. a lot of headshots are fine, but shots to the torso quite frequently do absolutely nothing, as if they were shots to the arm or leg. blasting a guy dead-on with a shotgun probably should kill him, and when it works it's deeply satisfying, but the results are extremely mixed. this i imagine is gonna get fixed first.

item number third: the areas past caves. this is a more minor issue, but while the caves feel so lush and well-populated, the other areas feel comparatively very underdeveloped. the town is largely the same couple of buildings over and over again, and the sewers are much more of the same. the scarcity in these regions also doesn't help; it doesn't feel like there's much to do beyond floor 1 aside from survive or die. i'd really like to see areas like the town feel more lived in, especially since the variety in gunplay between these regions feels really spectacular.

overall, i have been enjoying this game immensely, but until these three issues get fixed i can't in good faith recommend it to anyone else. the game's in its early stages, though, and i imagine a lot will be improved going forward.

this game contains so many multitudes that it legitimately almost frustrates me knowing i won't ever see all of the possible dialogue. it also gets even better with every successive playthrough. a pristine, perfect game. 10/10.

so, after playing this game over and over many times, i can safely say with a decent amount of confidence that this is the best game of all time. there's plenty to be frustrated with, but it's all outweighed by the things it does spectacularly well. just unbelievably well.

yes, it's extremely difficult to get into. yes it will be frustrating often. but if you're willing to immerse yourself you will sink into the story and never leave. this game gets inside your head in a way no other game really can. it's a really intensely emotional experience.

08/03/2024: a great transformation is beginning to take place within my body. my bones reshaping, my flesh contorting. my mind, too, is changing in ways i do not yet understand; the process is heralded by an unquenchable thirst for monkey game. i wake up, bleary-eyed, a lust for trophies and corvus hero xp coursing through me. i shall document my progress further as i continue to change.

hey so this is gold. thank you landfall for adding a surprising amount of depth to a game that was already great on its own.

oh my god. oh, wow. this game was fantastic and the ending completely shattered it.

they force you to to do nothing for 2.5 hours to beat it. it used to be 8. this game is horrendous.

i got my girlfriend this game 3 years ago and they never played it. i got it for myself last week. they don't know what they're missing. fishy 2 game of the year every year from this point on
