This game gets a thumbs up from me. This game has a lot of potential, from modular ships to a modest tech tree. The sector map gameplay is a bit of a letdown, but fleet combat can be fun. HOWEVER, there are a few glaring issues with the game, that makes it more of an exercise in frustration.

1. When warping in to an enemy held system, AI likes to chill about halfway between where you are warping in from, and the starbase in the center of the system, then go FULL BURN toward you in the mother of all blitzes. this would NOT be an issue, if your full fleet warps in at once. It doesnt, it warps in between like 1 and 10 ships, waits 5 seconds, then warps in between 1 and 10 more. You don't really get enough time to set up control groups, or anything like that, it's a mad dash scramble to get SOME kind of strategy going, just to survive long enough to get enough expendable meat shields into the fray to die for your heavy hitters, so you can destroy their heavy hitters, so they don't start playing wack-a-mole with your ships as they warp in piecemeal. (BTW, You won't get the same advantage when doing a defensive battle, your ships will be arrayed around your starbase which gives the enemy more time to warp in more ships.)

2. Ship Hull limits in a fleet. While I understand this makes sense from a Logistical standpoint, It compounds the difficulty of the first issue, since you can't mass larger ships to bust through that blockade the AI magically set up every bloomin' time. The Issue further annoys you by not STOPPING you from actually adding more ships than you can take into battle, but they won't appear in deploy list, and if you actually lose the battle, you will lose all the extra ships you couldn't deploy.

3. Balance. What the Heck is up with those dang Orcas. They are FAR beyond the equivalent ship you can bring out as far as a weapon loadout is concerned. I am assuming they are the equivalent of your heavy cruiser and not your carrier, despite it being nearly carrier size, because the ai regularly fields several.

4. Bugs. While I haven't actually found any game breaking bugs, the bugs I have found are really annoying and frustrating to deal with. Several Examples include, when designing a new build for a ship, that you start from scratch, game lets you do it, save it, and it will appear in the shipyards build list, but when you build it, the moment it enters production Que it reverts to the default loadout. Only workaround I have found in my admittedly short time playing this game, is to just change the default loadout, though sadly it makes running specialized loadouts a pain the neck, since I'd have to go change the loadout every time I wanted to build ships for a specific purpose. ANOTHER one that really gets me is the Combat Starbase bug, the starbase comes with some good armor, and a really good weapon loadout, though the firing arcs of the turrets leave much to be desired, that's not the issue however. THE ISSUE is the fighters. it comes equipped with 8 wings of Falcon Bombers, which do some dang work on those annoying heavier ships, (looking at you Orca) HOWEVER when you save the game, then load that save later inexplicably all your combat stations are no longer equipped with those Falcon Bombers, instead you get Seahawk Fighters. They are good, in situations, since they are dang good at targeting the turrets specifically, but their damage against hulls are basically nonexsistant. Only way to get your falcons back, is to scrap the dang station, then rebuild it.

IN SUMMARY. I love the concept of this game, I love how you can customize your ships, I like battles involved. I love Space battles in general so I tend to overlook a lot of glaring problems and stuff but this has a lot of potential. But until the kinks get worked out and balance issues get resolved, will be popping this back on the shelf and looking at it longingly.

This game is fun, it's many things I wish Pokemon was. There's a few things it's lacking on, but those issues will likely be resolved in time. Move variety for each Temtem is one, is pretty lacking, though still Adequate. Variety on the islands for another is also lacking. (To elaborate on the second point, each island has a "theme" and most temtems and trainers follow the theme. That being said, the first Island is "Air and water" themed, and yet there's only 1 temtem that is "pure air" type, and only 1 temtem that is "pure water" on the entire island.)

To address the complaints about a "premium store" and "season pass" I think the people who made those reviews, failed to realize that this game is designed to be an "MMO" that follows the pokemon formula. This game isnt designed to have a sequel, there may be an Expansion at some point, that MAY require one to buy it, but overall the game is designed to be played for thousands of hours, and while yes people are buying it often right now, eventually everyone who wants the game, is gonna have the game, and at that point, funds are gonna dry up, and then what are the devs gonna do? The premium store and season pass are to address that, and it's not like anything in either one of those are going to directly impact your game in any meaningful way.

To summarize, I love this game, I love what the devs are doing with the game, and Support the idea of a premium store and season pass, because it means the devs plan to stick with the game and update it for years. There are a few things I don't like but nothing that wont get fixed on it's own in due time. Devs just keep doing what Y'all are doing, because in my unprofessional opinion, Y'all're doin' just fine.

Early Access Review
Game already has a player problem, not nearly enough players to go around, waiting 5 + minutes in a cue, only to get talked down to, made fun of, and trash talked, the MOMENT I go the wrong place in a lane. literally guy was like CARRY SUPPOSED TO GO TO RED BUFF, ALRIGHT GUYS, IMMA ALT+F4 so we can restart. I don't really recommend.

The game has no players, and the players will attempt to chase away any new players.

I only played during the free to play weekend but this game was fantastic, I loved what it had to offer, and am praying for more content to be released. A worthwhile buy and plan on purchasing as soon as I can afford it.
