I must confess, today has begun with an unexpected moral dilemma. As I prepared to leave for work, I discovered a cicada—a fragile and fleeting soul of nature—nestled directly beneath the wheel of my car.
In good conscience, I cannot simply drive forward and risk its tiny life, knowing that cicadas only emerge from the earth after years in solitude to fulfill their brief yet vital existence. This small being, a symbol of resilience and rebirth, deserves a chance to sing its song.
