As someone who pre-ordered the game and played for around 20+hours on launch, this game is still nowhere near the advertized price.
Still littered with the same gross bugs from launch, lag is still eating at the servers, bugs with enemies that should be dead but still show up as hostile, and so many more bugs, not to mention the pay to win atom shop that gives you necesary game items behind a paywall.
I paid for beta access, and still have not gotten my worth out of this game, bethesda has fr dropped the ball

Project Zomboid is the most diverse and in depth zombie survival game out in the market to this date.
Updates unfortunately are not a regular thing in this game, they happen usually over longer periods of time, but always (since I've started playing) add something new and interesting to the game. Dev's often blog about stuff they're working on, and post previews on their website of what they've been working on and have accomplished, on each monday of every week.
Also, even if some of the reviews state that the game is dead, or other stuff like that, I'd try it out still. You can always request a refund if you don't play it for too long. The game also does have workshop compatability, and there are quite a few mods that add large ammounts to small amounts of content, which is totally something to check out.

All in all, I really do enjoy this game, and I'd recomend it to anyone who's interested in a different style of zombie apocalypse/survival horror game.
