This game was laughably bad, I purchased at $7.99 and even at that price I requested a refund. Poor voice acting, very odd out of the box controls for a racing game. Come on devs.... We've had gas on right trigger for nearly 15 years now...

Overwatch 2, the long-awaited sequel to the original beloved team-based shooter, was promised to be a revolutionary step forward for the franchise. However, what players were given instead is a soulless, money-grabbing disaster that not only fails to deliver on its promises but also shamelessly removes the essence of what made Overwatch 1 great.

From the moment Overwatch 2 was announced, fans were excited to see the continuation of their favorite characters and the evolution of the game's world. But what we got was a mere shadow of the original, a blatant cash-grab that completely disregarded the loyal player base that had supported the first game for years.

One of the most glaring betrayals is the fact that the developers claimed Overwatch 2 would be a full-fledged sequel, promising a plethora of new features and improvements. However, what we received was nothing more than a glorified expansion pack masquerading as a sequel. The core gameplay remains virtually unchanged, with the same mechanics, maps, and heroes that players have been using for years. Instead of innovating, the developers chose to recycle content and slap a new coat of paint on it, leaving players feeling cheated and undervalued.

The removal of Overwatch 1 content is another slap in the face for the fans. Despite promises that Overwatch 2 would build upon the first game, the developers shockingly decided to remove several features and elements that players loved. The removal of iconic maps, game modes, and even some heroes is an affront to the player base that invested time, effort, and money into the original game. It's as if the developers are saying, "Thanks for your support, now let's erase what you loved so we can make you pay for it all over again."

The introduction of a mandatory story mode in Overwatch 2 is a feeble attempt to justify the sequel's existence. The Overwatch community was built on the foundation of competitive gameplay, and forcing players to engage with a story mode that feels forced and disjointed only further highlights the disconnect between the developers and the player base. The story mode feels like an afterthought, thrown in to justify the exorbitant price tag of the sequel. It's a cheap way to try to entice players who are looking for something new, but it ultimately falls flat and leaves fans longing for the competitive experience they fell in love with.

Moreover, the microtransactions and loot box system in Overwatch 2 have reached new heights of greed. While the first game's cosmetic items were at least somewhat attainable through regular gameplay, the sequel has doubled down on predatory monetization practices. The developers have shamelessly locked behind paywalls even basic customization options that used to be freely accessible in Overwatch 1. It's clear that maximizing profit has become the priority, overshadowing any respect for the players who made the franchise a success in the first place.

In conclusion, Overwatch 2 is a textbook example of a sequel that not only fails to live up to its predecessor but also actively betrays its loyal player base. The promises of innovation, improvement, and evolution were mere marketing tactics to lure players into a trap of disappointment and financial exploitation. This sequel is nothing more than a blatant attempt to milk the franchise for all it's worth, while disregarding the very essence of what made Overwatch 1 a beloved and iconic game. It's a dark day for the Overwatch community when a sequel leaves players pining for the days of the original game, and that's precisely the unfortunate reality we find ourselves in with Overwatch 2.

Reseña de acceso anticipado
This is a excellent shooter that is playable on steam deck (although with use of community control layout) ; This did not require any tweaking on my part I just clicked install and picked out a community controller layout. That being said I spent most of my playtime with mouse and keyboard on my desktop because its easier to play with a mouse and keyboard.

Pros:
  • Kills are satisfying, enemies don't feel like bullet sponges.
  • Better Battlefield than battlefield makes.
  • No separate launcher.
  • Excellent implementation of voice chat both proximity, and squad. Funny interactions with enemy's after death/kill

Cons:
  • Movement is close but feels off, its still in early access, but seems like prone dive should be there.
  • No paddles on medics (maybe its on its way?)
  • No controller support out of the box (again maybe on its way?)
  • No parachutes. (Maybe on its way?)
