I want to go ahead and say Vicky 3 is a very controversial game that tackles a lot of controversial topics in a VERY controversial time across the entire world. It is not a perfect game, but one must consider that it takes place in our world, which is not a perfect world. The developers have listened to the players throughout development, even to the detriment of those who ignore the updates and feedback and believe that some things, such as the Voice of the People DLC were lackluster, when features from the DLC were just straight up added to the base game instead based on player feedback. As a result, the DLC as of writing this review is mainly flavor and cosmetic, along with a bit more of historical flair.

However, I love this game. If you're expecting something like Crusader Kings, Europa Universalis, or Hearts of Iron, of course you'll be disappointed. The goal of the game is that it's an economy simulation. You are playing as the Invisible Hand in your respective country. You are playing the country itself. Everything may seem seperate and distinct, but in truth, everything is a resource.

If you enjoyed Victoria 2, you may enjoy Victoria 3. I enjoy Victoria 3. Try it with a friend that has the full game before buying the DLC.

My friend got grabbed by a barnacle from Half Life 2 :tm: and I watched him slowly die. Afterwards, we found a little babyman scaredy cat thing, and when we tried to leave, I got consumed by a massive creature, and my friends ran from a giant golem. After the hospital visit, we sat down and watched the video go viral, so I'll do it again, I guess.

I love the game so these "Complaints" I'm listing are more frustrations with the human condition, which is greatly exemplified in Cities: Skylines!

1. IF I TRY TO BE ECO FRIENDLY AND DO FARMING INDUSTRIES AND LOGGING INDUSTRIES, THE STUPID CITIZENS COMPLAIN THAT I'M GONNA PUT WAGONS OUT AND IGNORE THE FACT THAT I LITERALLY HAVE A MONORAIL.
2. Even if you put down a bunch of transportation services that makes Cities in Motion look like a small bus company, THEY STILL USE THEIR CARS
3. WHY ARE THERE DORMS IN THE COMMUNITY COLLEGE WHO'S GOING TO A COMMUNITY COLLEGE AND LIVE IN COMMUNAL HOUSING!?!
4. HAVE Y'ALL EVER HEARD OF MAKING A DETOUR IF TRAFFIC IS BAD?!
5. QUIT NOT DYING I NEED 8 CEMETERIES FILLED SO I CAN MAKE A DISTRICT DEDICATED TO TRAINS
6. WHY CAN'T I ORDER HITS ON CITIZENS FOR USING TWITTER?
Some people may complain the game's unrealistic, but this game is a true testament to the human condition. Also, Highly recommend getting the industries, mass transit, and Campus DLCs at least. It's a fun game, and while frustrating, you have a lot more control than you realize!

I picked this game up on a whim just to snag a 5 dollar discount during the Steam summer sale. Honestly, didn't expect that much out of it, developer said he wanted to see how people use it and I've always been a sucker for city planning and logistics.

Now I need to clarify right now if you're looking for logistics in the same vein as City Skylines, that is not what you're getting out of this game. What you are getting is as much of a game as say wooden toy trains. It's not a game as of writing this review, it is a cute fun tool.

You start with nothing but water. You click the left mouse button and boom. A little island on the grid you selected. Click on top of that island and a little structure pops up. As you continue building, you can delete certain blocks and stairways and arches will form. If you build high up and add more blocks on the side of a building, steel support beams will reach down to provide integrity. And that's really all there is to the toy.

What's great about this is that it honestly allows you to plan our things like rpg cities and fully realize various structures like cathedrals, castles, lighthouses, and even canals. You don't see people moving around or anything, but you might see a bird perch on a roof. The architecture in of itself reminds me of something I'd see out of a Ghibli movie, and that alone makes it quite charming.

For a few bucks, this tool is a great thing if you just want to unwind and create little towns with cute architecture. I can't wait to see what else is in store for this great little toy.
