very good

most games have much more depth than you realize, incredibly charming and genuinely fun despite not being huge on retro games, also an insane amount of content for completionists.

came into this game years late after never giving it a chance when i heard it was just a worse payday, not far enough in to have a strong opinion but i really respect the amount of effort the devs have been putting into this game over the years. pretty solid for 10$ :)

pretty solid, not perfect but the recent overhaul has made it significantly more enjoyable.

this game is very fun :)

an incredible remake of one of my favorite games, significantly more brutal than the original risk of rain with beautifully done sprite work and remasters of the classic soundtrack, all of the new content is great with providence trials adding a fun break between regular runs, while remaining almost entirely optional for those who dislike random minigames. overall a wonderful treat for fans of the original, though if you're coming here from risk of rain 2 it might take a minute to adapt.

something that i never liked about risk of rain 2 was that it never truly felt like the planet was out to get you, this game can very easily have you feeling overwhelmed and like you're fighting through every inch to escape and i love that.
