If you play in Free Play mode, it's like a zen garden where things sometimes explode. Love it.

A twisted zen garden of a game, where Tinder meets Crusader Kings. Soothingly maniacal.

A calm, charming, and endearing adventure with a distinctive art style. I'm also a fan of the voiced "sound effects" in the game. Very clever. Nicely done.

I'm a big fan of this game.

I know some people complain about the lack of multiplayer, but the fact is: I really don't want to share this universe with other players, especially when they have a propensity for naming planets after body parts.

This game feels like an immersive re-imagining of a classic sci-fi RPG called Starflight that I played on PC as a kid. It's got that, plus EVE, plus a bit of Destiny in its DNA. Does it live up to all of its ambitions? Not really. The procedurally generated creatures are often silly and one cone of iron looks very much like another from planet to planet (so far, at least). But none of that matters to me.

Can I explore pretty freely and at my own pace? Yes! Can I upgrade my ship? Yes! Can I find and name new things? Yes! Am I left alone while I do it? Hooray!

As a fellow indie dev, I salute Hello Games for pulling off something of this scope and look forward to what comes next.

Great mechanic, simple and immersive, that leads to an interesting and somewhat emergent story. Definitely recommended.

I thought this was a brilliant, heart-wrenching narrative exploration. I wouldn't call it fun, but it certainly seemed to hunt for hope in the dark places. Worthwhile.

I don't love this as much as other games in the Civilization series, but it's a great sci-fi skin on a familiar game.

Quite enjoyed this artful narrative experience, but eager to see the next installment!
