You can switch to English in Game, and doing the fix on the steam deck still has the game launch in English.

I know, it's weird. The issue shouldn't exist, but at least it's fixable

What language will I be playing in then

You need to change system locale to Japanese, or if you're on steam deck, change the game language to Japanese in it's properties menu in your library.

It's silly how this issue slipped through the cracks
