This is the continuation of the classic TMNT games I've always hoped for. It isn't so groundbreaking that it doesn't feel like a classic TMNT brawler but it isn't so stuck in the past that it feels like the same old thing.

The modern spin on graphics and music is charming while being similar enough to the classic games that the whole experience is nostalgic and fresh at the same time.

It is clear a lot of time and effort was put into making this game and the developers should be commended for their work on this project.

The only gripe I have is that the experience is over too quick.

While Latex Dungeon has some creative lewd scenes it is marred by bugs, lack of polish and game inconsistencies that make the experience less enjoyable than it should be.

First, the pros:
*Very creative theme and lewd content
*Lots of hand drawn art

Now the cons:
*Controls with mouse and controller are both a janky mess
*Numerous engine-event inconsistencies
*Grammar errors aplenty
*Very few animated cutscenes (most are just a few frames on repeat)
*Graphical inconsistencies (many sprite updates override one another in sloppy ways)
*Many small bugs and aspects of gameplay that are either not explained very well or not intuitive
*Map design isn't very good

All in all, for 9.99 usd, this isn't the worst game I've played. I admit I have enjoyed most of my time with it due to the creative lewd scenes but the whole project feels very rough. Maybe after a number of updates the game will improve but as of writing this review (5/22/22) I only really recommend this to horndogs with very low standards.

Hot Wheels Unleashed is a decent enough racer barred by terrible business practices. The devs on this game are absolutely filthy with the paid content. On top of paid car dlc (which I am not totally against) they have a lot of stuff that isn't available in the season pass. Specifically the paid season dlc.

Paid season dlc is insulting and horribly greedy. You want the cool new cars? Okay, shell over the money for the paid DLC and then spend a month or two unlocking the stuff. But you better hurry because if you don't unlock everything then too bad because the season is over.

I cannot support games that do this kind of thing. It is borderline predatory business practice and should not be supported. If you want to get the game, avoid the season DLC stuff. It is 100% a ripoff.

Well that was a big waste of money.
I misread what this was and didn't realize it doesn't actually unlock any new content unless you slave away grinding levels. This is absolutely terrible paid content and I am pretty put off of the game because of how much nickel and diming these developers are doing.

Save yourself the money and don't bother with this. The game simply isn't good enough to warrant the PAID grind. I thought paying the money would unlock the cars but nope. You gotta pay and then spend another month or two playing constantly to unlock everything.

What an absolute joke. The devs should be ashamed. This is beyond EA levels of cash-grab here. Don't be foolish and pay for this, like I was.

It is a fun little game, but it 100% isn't good enough to warrant all the paid extras.

The Pixel Remaster art style works really well for Final Fantasy 4. Moreso than any of the other versions of this game (PSP version, GBA version etc.) the visual style here captures the beauty of the original while modernizing subtle effects (spells, lighting etc.).

The music in this version is also phenomenal. Easily the best Final Fantasy 4 has ever sounded. Now, these are new renditions of the classic songs so they won't be 1:1 remakes. For some people this may not be a positive but personally I love the new mixes. The quality of each track is top-shelf.

As for gameplay, the game plays mostly the same as the original US Final Fantasy 4 (2) release with some additional elements from the original Japanese release. There is also less grinding required in this version due to faster XP gain. For people who are familiar with the game they might criticize this choice but it makes getting through as a first timer much less annoying.

As with all of the Pixel Remasters, this is a must buy if you're a fan of Final Fantasy. If for no other reason than to listen to the amazing soundtrack.

Having finally cleared Final Fantasy 3 for the first time with the Pixel Remaster I am divided on whether or not to recommend it to people.

On the one hand the job system is fun and the music is fantastic (so good it is almost a must buy just for the music). On the other hand the gameplay and plot are mediocre at best.

While the game gives you a bunch of jobs to customize your party, each batch of new jobs basically invalidate former job options. Black Mage becomes Magus which is a direct upgrade. Warrior becomes Knight which is a direct upgrade. Monk becomes Black Belt. Ultimately you get Ninja and Sage which invalidate all other weapon/spell jobs outside of a few specific jobs. The game shoehorns in its final boss and final dungeon in a really asinine way. Basically you beat the big-bad you've been chasing for most of the game and get dumped into a super dungeon. The bosses in the final dungeon have massive HP compared to the dungeon you just cleared and the supposed big-bad of the main story. The supposed big-bad of the main story is also relegated to an optional boss you can to fight 4 additional times if you want to get the best helmet in the game. I believe the game dumps you into this area because the player is expected to have access to the Ninja job. Ninja is ridiculously overpowered compared to every other job in the game. It can use every weapon/armor (outside Onion gear) and can throw shurikens which deal massive damage (usually 9999) every turn. To put it into perspective, the final dungeon bosses (not counting the final boss itself) have between 50% to 90% more health compared the big-bad you thought was the final boss moments before.

Final Fantasy 3 is easily the worst of the 2D games.
Having said that, it is worth playing if you have never played it. The Pixel Remaster's soundtrack is great and the job system is somewhat enjoyable until you get to the final area of the game.

While mostly true to the NES original the Pixel Remaster feels fresh thanks to the updated graphics and amazing soundtrack. Honestly it is worth playing this version just to hear the music. Without a doubt this is the best version of the soundtrack ever released (as has been consistently true with every Pixel Remaster thus far).

Final Fantasy 2 has some really strange conventions that will put a lot of players off. The keyword system is needlessly cumbersome and unless you actively engage with it you might miss an important keyword and find yourself getting lost. In my opinion this is the biggest problem with the game.

The other thing that will likely put a lot of players off is the very strange improvement system. Instead of the Final Fantasy staple, experience points and levels, you gain power through use. This makes grinding very strange, as you'll end up using under powered spells/weapons to improve your overall strength. This can be easily abused to become absolutely overpowered before killing the first boss. This system would later be revisited in SaGa franchise games to much better success.

The story is alright but not quite as compelling as the original Final Fantasy. The pacing is a little too quick for my liking and it feels like you don't really get to know the side characters much before they're swapped out for someone new.

Personally I really enjoy this game. It is unique and once you get over the weird keyword system and awkward leveling its a pretty darn good game. And the music... Final Fantasy 2 has great music. Even before the Pixel Remaster. If you don't buy this make sure to check out the soundtrack. It has some great tracks and if you're a fan of video game music then this is one you don't want to pass up.

I'll be brief.

The developer on this game is awesome. The game is rough around the edges but the amount of time and effort put into this project is amazing. If you've got any interest in monster taming games I think purchasing this is a no-brainer. In its current state there are a bunch of bugs but the developer is very active to try and squash as many as possible while continuing to expand on his project.

If this game continues to see dedication and focus from its developer for the next year or two there is a definite possibility that this game could give the other monster-taming games a run for their money.

I'll make this very simple.
Psychonauts is one of the best platformers ever made. The originality of this game sets it apart from the multitude of cookie cutter games in the genre. Every stage/world is totally unique and sometimes exceptionally well crafted.

This is a game any platformer fan would do well to play. It really is that good.

There are some great platformers on Steam. The original Psychonauts was already one of the best available and Psychonauts 2 is even better. It captures the aesthetic, theme and gameplay of the original perfectly. Psychonauts makes me think of Nightmare Before Christmas in the best way possible. The gameplay is fantastic, the level design is completely original and the plot is compelling.

If you haven't played the original I highly recommend starting there. Psychonauts 2 picks up shortly after the first ends so if you haven't played the original you will only get a little summary of the story.

This is a game well worth full price at 59.99 USD. If for no other reason than to support devs that have clearly poured love into the project.
