Worthy of a spin.

Just remember that this is a slower paced combat experience. Go in slow, think about counter attacks and wait for that moment when you unload all your weapons and the "Kill Confirmed" pops up and a cool little jingle plays.

As a free to play game, your struggle will be to find a mech or weapon loadout you like to play with as you swap between free trial mechs and the small bucket of cash you earn from the tutorial. You will eventually earn enough cash to buy equipment, but it is this 'trial and error' that will determine whether you like this game or not.

In the end, there is enough options out there to find something that tickles your fancy, but without a ton of guidance it might be hard to find it. Don't be afraid to buy something just to try it, and remember you can trial anything from the mechlab to see if works the way you think it does.

The true successor to DOOM, DOOM II.

Exactly how I wanted the bound, flat DOOM to evolve to past the bottomless mag, infinite circle strafe without moving too close to being just another bunny-hopping QUAKE reflection.

Play it slow first: enjoy the atmosphere, reminisce in the survival horror that you got when you first slapped in the two floppy disc version of shareware DOOM. Afterwards: ratchet it up to pushing to see how quickly you can turn out a 100% run on harder difficulties.

Great sound, great visuals. Superb visual style with a retro look. Highly recommended.
