fear

stuck at a constant 30 fps. extremely offputting when you're used to 60+. tried multiple solutions to fix it:

-putting in the command "jobs_numthreads 1"
-renaming the .exe to "x86" and running as admin
-putting in the command "toggle com_synctotime r_syncatendframe"

this last one got my fps above 30 to a whopping 45, but made every texture in the game look segmented and somehow made the gameplay keep fluctuating from feeling slowed-down to sped-up.

sat through the opening sequence 3 times because silly little me didn't know i was supposed to fiddle with my computer settings in order to get this game to run properly. minecraft runs better and it's not even made on a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game engine

played on hard difficulty and don't think the game deserves it's "mixed" rating. i liked the combat, gave off Cry of Fear vibes with the sparsity of ammo and how you had to make sure every bullet is spent wisely. there's no hud which was a bit odd but it made the added ADS mechanic useful, which i liked. there's no way to tell your health but it's obvious that at extremely low health, it regenerates like the Metro games. you can't use the combine first aid kits or vials, and need to use human medkits instead. they aren't too rare, and you'll find enough to last you during firefights.

the only real problem i had was the platforming segments that required you to jump off a ledge at the last possible microsecond. other than that, i enjoyed my time with this.

currently has this really annoying bug where it'll get stuck on a black screen and you have to alt+f4 to escape it. there's already several discussions about it, even with some developer input, and yet it still seems to be an issue. game seems pretty solid, so i'd wait until it gets patched before buying

0/10 told a woman to "shut the ♥♥♥♥ up" but my character only said "shut your g*ddamn mouth!!!!1"

a flaming zombie decided to ignore me and instead look for brains in the book store i was looting and it made me very mad
but i got to kill 500 non-flaming zombies with a single crowbar so i guess it evens out
