A good light rpg, mostly focused on combat and little puzzles or exploration. Entertaining, but not without flaws though :

- The UI is frankly terrible
- The graphics style, which seems refreshing at first, quickly becomes tiring
- Music ranges from rather good to annoying
- Unless I missed something, you can't get any information on your opponents, which is a hassle to prepare a good strategy when in combat
- Small bugs, mainly due to the fact that after a reload, all doors (including those you opened with a key that then disappeared) are closed again
- Some achievements are bugged (looks like I got rather lucky with them), and if you're after a perfect game, I think you'll have to play once at each difficulty (not sure, and 1 run was enough for me, I'm not gonna try again).

Anyway, for the price, and despite these flaws, recommended if you like dungeon crawlers.

After spending 2 hours running around in circles in the school, I finally realized I had absolutely no fun playing this game. The idea is interesting, the atmosphere is kinda right, but as for the rest :

- awful textures (like, ps2-awful or something) (note : apparently, the game was first shipped with "64 bits" textures, supposedly much better, but which were removed for "performance" problems. I never saw them, and they were never reintroduced despite the initial "promise")
- useless walking pace, meaning you'll have to be running all the time, except you can't run all the time as the character has to catch her breath from time to time
- uninspired level design
- average and not well presented puzzles (those that I saw, at least).
- limbo (when you "die", you wake up in limbo, which requires you to walk towards a light to start playing again (at least 1 minute lost every time)
- not tight enough controls (some of the fights require you to get behind your target, it's a hassle just to do that, and if you miss, chances are you'll get a stuck in a "loop" of you being knocked down repeatedly by your target, meaning you'll probably end up in limbo-oh-great-not-again ? see above)
- camera control has a bad tendancy to "double" your input, meaning you'll raise it and then immediately lower it, especially when you try to activate it after running (which you do all the time, see above). As the camera is crucial for some events, guess what ? Back to limbo-you-gotta-be-kidding-me again (see above ... again :p)
- absolutely no sense of fear after the first jump-scare (if you can even call it that)
- minor, but from what I saw, your character doesn't talk, not even answering questions asked by her teammates

I finally gave up after 3 hours, totally bored. This game could have been good, maybe even great, but in the end, it brings absolutely no fun, just frustration, and as such, there's no way I can recommend it.

That was a really entertaining adventure/investigation game to play :

+ Good story
+ Nice graphic style
+ Good voice acting
+ Interesing and logical puzzles
+ Rather good music
+ The cognition system, clever and interesting to use
+ Trading cards and achievements

- Moving characters is a bit slow
- 3D models are not all that great
- Starting at episode 3, I had some funny bug with Erica's model : from time to time, after a load or a cutscene, her model was completly freaked out ... hands in air, head pushed back against her back, and head spinning 360° permanently ... funny to watch but kinda breaking the mood. It stops after you start moving her again.
- Some puzzles, though logical, are a pita (especially the one at the end of episode 2, requiring you to remember every insignificant detail of the case ... the map on episode 4 is also difficult, mainly because of the way it's presented)
- Some achievements (especially episode 1) require you to replay, in a slightly different way, almost half of the episode case
- Some dialogues or cutscenes can not be interrupted sometimes, not even sure if it's on purpose or a bug.
- Some inconsistancies : Erica pulling her gun on her partner, entering suspect locations alone ... not very plausible.

Despite those little flaws, it's definitely a recommanded game, imho.

NB : Expect around 20h if you aim for 100% achievements.

This game delivers exactly what it promises, and does it well, at a right price.

The drifting is a bit tough at first, but the right kind of tough : the one that makes you want to come back to get a little better with each run (case in point : I spent 3 hours just on the 1st track, the one at the end of the tutorial, to get the hang of it and reach 8th position ... I probably fell down in rank since then :D)

I can't really judge the content (see above, only played the 1st track), but I can see me playing this a lot. Good points :

- simple and very nice art style
- driving feels good with keyboard (tried briefly with controller : not for me :p), with the right amount of difficulty to master
- achievements, trading cards, leaderboards
- rightly priced imho

Only problems I've seen so far : twice, at the start of a run, the sound disappeared, or rather became muffled, making it a bit tough to ride (when you can't hear your engine). It came back to normal at the next run. Also, from time to time, there's a bit of stuttering. Not very frequent, but it can really mess up a good run if it happens at the wrong time.

In conclusion, highly enjoyable and definitely recommended, if the idea somewhat appeals to you. Great job !

Great panzer-general-like (or pacific-general-like, both apply :p) tactical wargame. After 9 hours, I just finished the tutorial campaign, taking my time to achieve all secondary objectives, it's a long time since I had some much fun playing a wargame :)

A little more in details :

+ solid gameplay, a bit generic/usual for this kind of games, but with a few nice innovations/twists (flanking, officers, engagement distance at sea and so on)
+ supply "management"
+ a tutorial campaign (but see below)
+ upgradable core units which follow you through the campaign
+ secondary objectives can have some impacts on the following missions
+ nice graphics and animations, good sounds
+ good manual, clear and precise

- the tutorial is a bit on the short side regarding explanations (reading the manual is thus strongly recommended), and on the long side regarding the length (as I said, it took me 9 hours to complete it, even if it was by taking my time, so to speak)
- music does the job, but remains very generic
- frequent slowdowns when it's computer turn
- I wish there was some cohesion bonuses (keeping formations at sea, keeping infantry "groups" together), but nope (probably a bit tough to simulate at this level)
- I think the supply system could have been better
- no move undo : on a couple of times, I messed up (clicking too fast) what I wanted to do ... in such a case, you need to reload the last save : an undo would have been nice as long as you did not bump into an enemy.

Overall, the cons are very minor, and it's a very pleasant wargame to play, definitely recommended !

A great little roguelike. Nothing exceptionnaly original, but it definitely looks solid enough as well as entertaining. The price is right too, and the dev seems to be willing to enhance the game based on feedback and suggestions.

I do not have enough game time yet to judge the interest on long term, but I see no reason not to recommend this game.

I wish a "neutral or not decided" review would be possible, as far as I'm concerned, this game would fit right there.

Objectively, this game is relatively nice and well done (that's why I ended up pressing "Yes" instead or "No"). It's a tough game, but not really for the good reasons, or at least not the reasons I was expecting. It's not really a reflex game, it's more a memory game : if you play purely on reflexes, you'll fail more or less quickly. Instead, you have to "grind" levels, repeating them ad nauseam, until you recognize the incoming patterns, and know before reaching them what you're about to do. Worse, you need to remember those patterns at least twice (normal, and upside down, so to speak).

And since you start back at level 1 each time you die (i.e. every few seconds usually :D), getting and knowing level 3 for example, is already a real pita, as you don't reach it every time, far from it. Case in point : I made it to level 4, but never got past it, and at this point, I'm already bored (ok, I might be a bit too old for this kind of games, but still :p).

Besides, there are a few problems that make the matter worse :

- jumping (switching floor and ceiling) does not feel "natural" : it seems you're landing further than you would expect, leading to frustrating deaths or missing bonuses to collect.
- collisions also seem a bit off, espcecially (again) when jumping : you'll die often this way while thinking your jump was perfectly valid. I also saw a few cases where I went right though obstables.

The 2 above points could really be a problem for such a game, but you get used to them, eventually. If you like challenges, and don't mind repeating the same things over and over, this game might fit your needs, but for me, I'm done after just a few hours (I already have a full time job to fill my needs of repeating and frustrating tasks ;), I expect something else from games).

Great little game. It might be a mobile port, but as long as it's enjoyable to play, and this is definitely the case, I don't care ;)

Been playing for 4 hours, made it to level 16 of 25 (unless there are some bonus levels after that) with (so far) all gold medals and all bonuses (dog tags to find, scattered around the levels). I'm using an xbox360 controller, and that works perfectly (I did not even try with keyboard).

I remained on easy mode for flying (I think pro mode just brings frustration, not what I'm after), and auto fire, though manual fire could be useful on some levels (come to think of it, I don't think I'm able to change that in the options ... so far at least).

The overall feeling of flying is quite good for such a game imho, the levels have been interesting up to now, and the achievements are very doable, for the most part. Only complaint I have : the dog tags bonuses are really difficult to spot sometimes, leading to some wandering around the maps for quite some time, to find the damn last one ;)

The price is right, the game is enjoyable, there are trading cards and achievements : this game is totally recomended, even if it's only 10 hours long or so (I'll know exactly later ...)

UPDATE : game finished in a little more than 7 hours. The last level is a real challenge, don't expect a medal with autofire on (and to clarify, this means you'll have to play this one on keyboard + mouse, controller unplugged, the option to turn off autofire is not available otherwise). So, maybe a bit on the short side, but still very much recommended :)

I was not expecting much of this game ... well, I was pleasantly surprised :)

Sure, it's linear (invisible walls included) and certainly not the game of the century. But the story is interesting, mostly lore-friendly and plausible (so to speak :p), the graphics (though a bit dated) do their job, voice acting is fine, and combat is quite enjoyable (with some nice finish moves). Character customization is interesting too (3 different sets of a skills, and you can't unlock everything in a single playthrough so you'll have to make choices), side quests are well integrated with the main story and not too abundant (I think that's a plus in that case), and achievements flow pretty well (though you'll have to make a second playthrough to get them all, I think). Loot/gear is good too, but getting a full set of armor seems, if not impossible, quite tough.

I only played singleplayer, with a single character, there's a coop mod too (not tested). Your AI sidekicks do their job, most of the time. No bug that I saw, just a few strange checkpoints (for example, if you use fast travel back to a haven while in mission, you might have to start over certain fights when you come back).

To make it short, I enjoyed playing it, and if I did not have a hoard of other games to play :D, I think I'd make a second playthrough on higher difficulty (you keep your stats and skills when doing this). Good game, recommended.

I have very mixed feelings about this game : I know I'm in the minority here, but this almost ended up as a "not recommended", for the following reasons (and as a long fan of Tolkien lore) :

- the mix between humour and "serious" sequences does not work imho. The game should have been an entire parody, or serious all the time (preferably the former), the actual end result is not good, I think
- dropping hundreds, if not thousands, of collectibles upon a map does not make a game good
- despite not even trying to do everything (at the moment, I'm around 2/3 of the story mode and probably won't be coming back for more when it's done), I encountered several bugs (mainly items getting stuck in the air, or characters getting stuck in the walls or the scenery, without any way to unlock them, forcing a restart to checkpoint)
- maniability and/or visibility are not that great on certain sequences ("platforming" mainly), leading to some frustration, and even some useless "deaths" (sometimes "against your will", like in the marshes, one character would die (drown) while the game was taking control to show you where Gollum was going to).

With that said, I must admit the way they transformed the Lord of the Rings into a game was very smart, and seeing how they would adapt the next important event to a gameplay sequence was what kept me going, and finally lead me to press "yes" instead of "no" on Recommended, because, in the end, I kinda enjoyed playing it, despite all the flaws
