Pacific Drive is a game I both hate and love. The concept is fantastic—a roguelike where you drive a car, collect resources, and upgrade your garage and vehicle. It's such a cool idea, but unfortunately, I found it too "simple" in execution.

To be clear, I’m not saying the game needs to have overly intricate systems, and there are some cool mechanics here. However, there aren’t enough meaningful systems or mechanics that truly change the gameplay in impactful ways. I finished the game in about 34 hours, though roughly an eighth of that time was spent AFK. If you focus on just the story missions, the game isn’t very long—and it’s not particularly challenging, either.

I completed the game in 25 trips without dying once. Whenever the game seemed like it might get difficult, I’d unlock a new upgrade that made things significantly easier. The challenge would disappear entirely, and it never returned. This lack of sustained difficulty led to the game becoming repetitive. By the end, I was so bored that I stopped looting altogether, even though I had upgrades left to unlock. The upgrades just weren’t worth the grind because they didn’t feel necessary. Without any real challenge, there wasn’t much motivation to explore or engage beyond the story.

For a while, I played the game my way, taking my time and enjoying the freedom. But eventually, I just focused on completing the story. Unfortunately, even that felt hollow. While the game is well-written and features excellent voice acting, I found it hard to care about the characters speaking in my ear because I never actually saw them. By the time I finished, the ending felt empty—like I had wasted my time. Nothing significant happens, and you’re simply left to continue in free play if you want.

Maybe this game just isn’t for me, but I can’t confidently recommend it. While it has its moments and an undeniably cool concept, the lack of depth and challenge left me feeling underwhelmed.

BioShock Infinite is an exceptional game that seamlessly blends an engaging story with compelling gameplay. One aspect that stood out to me was how the game handled weapon mechanics. Unlike the first two BioShock titles, which often left you scrambling for ammo—especially on the hardest difficulty—Infinite strikes a better balance. Although you're limited to carrying only two weapons at a time, the game compensates by providing a steady supply of ammo. This makes the gameplay more fluid and less frustrating.

Even when ammo is scarce, the ability to swap weapons on the fly keeps the combat dynamic and engaging. While the weapon upgrades in Infinite aren't as extensive or flashy as those in the earlier games, they are still valuable, allowing you to enhance your preferred weapons without needing to dive into side content. This makes focusing on your favorite loadout both rewarding and efficient.

The story in BioShock Infinite is profound and unforgettable, offering a narrative experience that stays with you long after you finish the game. Without giving away any spoilers, I can confidently say it's worth experiencing, especially if you've played the first two games. The DLC content also does an excellent job of tying up loose ends, making it a must-play for fans of the series.

Overall, I'd rate BioShock Infinite a solid 8/10. It's a game that excels in both storytelling and gameplay, and it's definitely worth your time, especially if you're already familiar with the BioShock universe.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is an outstanding game that delivers a compelling experience both for new players and old; however, I find it difficult to recommend due to its problematic approach to DLC and microtransactions. For those unconcerned about these issues, the core game itself is certainly worth playing.

When purchasing a $70 game, one might reasonably expect to access the complete content without additional costs. Unfortunately, this title falls short of that expectation. Essential features like New Game Plus are locked behind a paywall, as are additional job classes available only through pre-order or additional purchase—even though they were released on day one. Similarly, cameo characters from other games and even certain costumes are accessible only through further payments.

For a premium single-player game, such practices are more akin to what you'd expect from a free-to-play or live-service model. It's a strategy that appears to prioritize profit over consumer satisfaction, offering little justification from a gamer's perspective. This approach not only undermines the value proposition of the initial purchase but also raises questions about the fairness and integrity of such monetization strategies in full-priced video games. In light of these practices, there is no plausible defense for this approach in a premium, single-player title—it serves the company at the expense of the consumer. I recommend buying this game on sale if you wish to get everything this game offers to fully enjoy it.

Removed content just because sega wanted to make a quick few bucks. I really dislike this approach and I really hope they don't keep doing this, especially when you can tell it was originally in the game and then they removed it just to make money. This would be much different if the game was not full price and this came out at a later date.
