If my hours logged doesn't get the point across, this is one of my favorite games. The creativity and freedom this game allows is amazing. It's Lego's for the technically-minded gamer, in space, with guns.

That's all I need to say, really.
Stop reading reviews, buy it, and start playing.

Is it pay to win? Yes. Can you drop a ton of money on it and suddenly have an amazing ship with amazing weapons? Yes.

Does that make it any less enjoyable to play? Nope.

PVP in this game is an undeniable mess. If you don't bring the right ship, with the right build, the people will start swearing at you. And because it's pay to win, everyone's going to have a better ship than you do. So I avoid PVP, except for my one daily.
On the PVE side, you've got skirmishes, missions, and a fairly open galaxy to explore. With no one to judge you about what ship you're flying, you have a ton of options on your play style. Long range snipers, fast covert op ships, heavy tanks, healing ships... Play whatever suits you. The battles are fast-paced, and there's always something else to do. I've been playing this on and off for a while and I haven't spent a dime on it. I'm still having a blast... literally.

Abandoned, and unfinished. Avoid it.

First off, yeah...it's not being actively developed anymore. There was a tiny update in March 2020, but that's about it. That being said, I still enjoy this game. My playtime doesn't reflect the time spent playing a version that may or may not have been legit. <.<

It's ARK's fantasy brother. Plays about the same, and comes with the same challenges. Monsters aren't chained up in one area, so you can run into anything anywhere. I enjoy the unpredictability of it. Keep me on my toes. Level 50 Whatsit attacking your favorite town while you're level 1? Deal with it. It's always something new.
I enjoy the progression system greatly. Takes time to learn the good recipes, so you don't feel overpowered right away. Want to have a good house? Build ♥♥♥♥♥♥ houses until you git good. Need a better sword? Better learn to make swords.

Yeah, buy it when it's on sale. But still, if you like survival games...buy it.

Attempt 1: Ate cooked food. Drank clean water. Slept in a bed. Woke up and promptly died of infection.
Attempt 2: Ate fruits, nuts, and cooked fish. Boiled all my water. Slept in a shelter in a cave. Woke up...died of infection.
Attempt 3: Spawned, walked five feet, got eaten by a puma...just to mix things up a bit.
Attempt 4: Ate wtf-ever, drank wtf-ever. Slept on some rocks. Woke up. Died of infection.

10/10 would die of infection again.

So...you're a goat. You can headbutt, kick, and lick anything and everything you see. And you should, because there's some truly weird ♥♥♥♥ in this game to discover. Get all the DLCs. Mess with the particle accelerator. Screw around with the 3D printer. Start a zombie apocalypse. Do whatever the hell you want.

Short on story, long on fun. If you're looking for a huge sandbox of cliches and nonsense to run around and destroy, all the while discovering secret powers and ridiculous easter eggs, look no further!
