Muzzle Tuff (we call him MT) wants you to see his new picture. He is wearing a special cowboy hat and boots. His Aunt Terri says that when he wears his belly band he walks like John Wayne so she calls him "Cowboy". MT is still his independent self, but I think he was probably exposed to small children at some time. There is a little girl in our neighborhood who, whenever she sees him, gets down on the sidewalk. MT promptly lies down and flops over so she can rub his belly. What a sweetie! He recently had his DNA checked and we found out he is 75% cairn, 12.5% West Highland Terrier, and 12.5% Scottie. He looks most like a cairn but his independent spirit seems to be a nod to his Scottie heritage. MT is getting more involved with the family, but is also very comfortable being a loner. He's so tiny, with the smallest feet that manage to scurry and keep up with the bigger kids. To see him is to fall in love!

UPDATE 10/14/2015: . Muzzle Tuff loves to be outside - he will spend long periods of time outside in a fenced yard by himself. He does not join with his fur-siblings except at treat time - and then he is still a loner. He holds himself a little apart from the "crowd." Even at his older age and, with such short legs, Muzzle Tuff is a good walker and, though hanging in the back, can do whatever distance we all do. I have seen him play with toys a few times, and apparently he loved toys in the shelter. He would probably be happiest as an only dog, but raises no problems with his fur-siblings. He has a loud voice when he feels that he needs to express himself like at large dogs, when a fur-sibling needs my attention, when he needs my attention or just because the others are all barking.No information given.
