Yeah yeah, people joke it's a hat simulator, and random crits are the bane of everyone's existance, but all in all, Team Fortress 2 is a great game to just try to see if you like it. There's no commitment to buy anything unless you REALLY want to buy yourself a nice hat or accessory; all weapons can be found as drops as a Free 2 Play player to equip yourself with and find weapons that match your playstyle. This game is about skill and team (hence the title, no?) coordination (and luck, darned random crits!) rather than about who has the better 'Pay 2 Win' weapon, like most online FPS games do. Too long, did not read?: Give it the old college try.

I've played a lot of free-to-play MMORPGs in my days, and Champions Online is the best I've played. I've played Lord of the Rings Online, Asda Story, Perfect World, Rohan Online, and a mess of others, but Champions is the best by far. The game immerses you into the game world, making YOU feel like a comic book superhero. The classes in-game are called 'Archetypes' and they hit the mainline comic book hero archetypes pretty well, and the Travel Powers are pretty amazing in diversity to boot.

Granted, it is a free-to-play MMO, so there will be some limits to what you can buy and do without spending money to buy their in-game currency (Zen) But! Misers delight when I tell you that you can exchange an in-game commodity called 'Questionite' into Zen! You need a whole heck of a lot of Questionite to refine into Zen, but the option is still nice!

Dark Forces is probably one of the best DOS games ever made. The game is pretty straight forward: you start a mission and run around killing Imperial troops (and later the dreaded Dark Troopers!) while looking for keys to access new areas. There are a few puzzles to solve in the game, but they're relatively easy. It's mostly just jump timing and setting the correct configuration for switches. The only downside to this game is that you can beat it in a matter of 2-3 hours if you know what you're doing. Other than the short campaign, this game is worth the $4.99 if you're a Star Wars fan.

This is Unreal Tournament at its finest. I played Unreal Tournament III and it pales in comparison to UT2004. Sure, there's fancy new graphics and other nifty stuff, like awesome vehicles and gorey-er gore, but it just doesn't have the novelty of UT2004.
