I was pleasantly surprised with how much this game teaches you about basic logic and computer architectures. At a certain point it stops holding your hand and expects you to figure complex problems out on your own, so it is not for the faint of heart. But it is incredibly satisfying to watch an actual computer that you made at work.

A very immersive survival game with a focus on crafting and making the most of what you have. It has some horror elements and the time crunch of making it back after a run can make things stressful in the blink of an eye, so if you get spooked easily, not for you. Otherwise, it's easy to get lost in the beautiful environment.

All the other ratings speak volumes about how amazing this game is. Incredible characters, a compelling story and setting, and engaging roguelike gameplay that almost feels like a mix of Into The Breach and FTL. The cherry on top is an astounding OST. I absolutely recommend this game. <3

An adorably cute game by the same people behind Cobalt Core. Innovative gameplay with a short and chill story, and a banger OST. I recommend.

The game is a very promising nuclear simulator with plenty of depth, but in its current state I cannot recommend it for $15.

The gameplay loop is very straightforward and once you have started the reactor once you've started the reactor a million times. The rest of the gameplay is minor adjustments for an arbitrary demand, so you cannot even fast-forward through the very slow day without risking being dinged for not meeting demand.

Instead of working on making the game more approachable, the developer seems to have taken an almost hostile stance against people asking for help. I understand that the "appeal" of the game is that it DOESN'T give you a tutorial to hold your hand, but there is a line between being a complex simulator and a frustrating guessing game. The developer is instead working on other mechanics to make the game even more complex.

What little documentation there is is sorely lacking. Many in-game "wiki" articles do not actually describe how to use the various machines, but instead tell you about what they are in a real-life context, which is not helpful. And although the developer recently released a 151-page manual, it is also filled with filler that makes it hard to navigate and distinguish between what is actually helpful for playing the game.

The Discord server is a nice community for people willing to help, but it seems that with the release of said manual, the appointed helpers no longer actually help answer even the simplest of questions but instead dismissively direct people to read the manual (which is, again, 151 pages long). This change has made even the Discord server (which I was very involved in) feel hostile against new players, which is unacceptable for a game like this.

In closing, although the game is certainly a detailed simulator in a niche, interesting field, it falls short in explaining how to actually play it. Instead of working on updating the existing documentation, the developer is instead focusing on introducing more mechanics that only add more complexity. With the addition of a verbose, unhelpful manual (whose very existence contradicts one of the sticking points of the game), even the Discord community, previously a safe and welcoming space for new players, has become just as hostile and dismissive. I cannot in good faith recommend the game in its current state, and I would wait for a future time when the game is more approachable.

The game had such promise and appeal but after being bought out and subsequently abandoned, there is almost no hope for it. Modding has helped some but nothing can really replace the developers themselves. In its current state it's still incredibly buggy. Don't buy it, save your money for something in active development instead.
