People say it went to ♥♥♥♥. Well, I see where they come from, but I'd say it comes with the field. Sure, of course the game's gonna be really nice and it's gonna feel like the devs are thinking a lot about the game, and I'm sure they probably went through internal troubles due to difference in ideas and such as they steadily got bigger and bigger. Let's not forget that this game, being free, has tons and tons of people playing it, obviously. But that's the problem, when a game is small, you can easily moderate it, but when it gets big, massive in fact, it's much harder to moderate people that break rules, and I think some of their decisions were made because of the drama that went on in the game (stealing models, crashing pcs, using modded clients for malicious reasons, etc...) and let's not even start with the public indecency problems the game had quite a while ago, bullying (that can't really be helped), aggressive online behaviour and the cursed word, pedos. I feel some of their changes, while they mostly were really general and badly implemented/thought, were justified. I can see the thinking behind blocking mods, behind "stealing" models, behind trying to make mods official (like taking down the portable mirror mod and implementing it themselves), I can see why they've done everything they have, it's just, well, it's badly made, and they're super stubborn as well, and then there's some changes that just make no sense. I love the lag as well.

The game's fine, as long as you have someone to get into the game with as a new player, and it's fine to continue playing as someone who's had the game for a while, beware though, it'd be best in public worlds to be really... well, reserved. Who knows what reason someone can give to get you banned. That's why I'm in private worlds only.

I don't want to recommend the game, or dislike the game, so even if the thing says no, I say neutral. This is just insight.

I don't have many hours in planetside 2, but I can tell you I've been keeping up with this game ever since it started all those years ago. The release was alright, then it started going down the confusion path where no one knew what the devs were doing with the game, with infrequent updates, this lasted for a long ass time. Then in came the carriers and since then, it's a constant stream of updates, events, and a surge of players. Awesome. I don't know who to thank for this at RGP, but whoever got the team on their feet to fix the game and not just let the game die is awesome. Thank you.
