I can't tell you how much I'm enjoying this game. It has made me feel things I haven't felt for a long time.
Only 15% complete and I feel like I got full value for my money.
This game is amazing.

I played Civ 2: Test of Time back in the day. It was fun to explore, the city building was interesting, trying out new units was always enjoable, and then of course, marching an army to an opponent was a blast. Fast forward 10 years to Civ 5. Exploration is always fun. Seeking ruins, meeting city states, fending off barbarians and eventually finding your opponents is great. The reasearch tree in this game makes it incredibly difficult to choose: Do I build up my military tech, increase my gold income, push for some good culture wonders, increase my science, grow my city... etc. and every play can be done differently. I have a favourite tech path due to familiarity, but if needed, I will take any road. The variety in strategy for early game exploration, mid game conquests and late game domination is incredibe. I bought this game on the suggestion of a friend and it was the best money I have spent on a game. Do I recommend Civ 5? YES! GET THE GAME! PLAY WITH YOUR FRIENDS!
Once you get past the initial learning curve, you will find that the exploration, development, strategy, and eventual victory will be incredibly satisfying and very addictive. I cannot wait for Civilization: Beyond Earth

This expansion pretty much re-wrote the game. I find there is a whole lot more strategy, plenty more depth and countless different play/build styles to experiment with. The AI seem a little smarter and the flow of the game is that much better overall. I'd say that this expansion makes civ 5 the best strategy game I've ever played. A few of the aspects are a bit more difficult to figure out, but that provides a challenge to master, as the new aspects can be very potent. Also, you can just ignore them and play normally. But watch out for your opponents making good use of them while you don't. :D

Great light-hearted or intense white knuckling fun. Meet new people, play new maps, make new memories. The balance of CS with a fun but tricky game of deception provides an excellent experience that will have you asking where all the time went! Also, garry's mod provides hours of make your own fun! Build a new world and bring in skyrim, half-life, CS, halo, etc objects or build your own out of the huge library of offerings, and have a freakin blast!
