Have you ever wondered that "What if life is just a simulation?", if yes, in Noita it will let you think like that and allow you to break that simulation and potentially pursue deep knowledge. Way up above, so does below. Collide both and you shall destroy everything. Do be careful as the world is unforgiving, even if you transcend into a godhood.

Oh my, I'm jumping ahead here so let us ask the basic first. What is Noita? Well, the store description said it better than myself but, if a blockhead like me had to explain, it's a 2D roguelite platformer / adventure game where the goal is simple. Survive and get stronger until you reach the final floor and beat the final boss to complete the run. At least it's like that until your curiosity get the better of you.

The game is hard and has mild RNG attached, but that difficulty bar can be drastically lowered with knowledge and experience, mainly the former. Wand crafting (your weapon) is crucial and getting to know the system will let you break a wand to let you shoot a nuke every game tick, which is bottleneck-ed by your gaming rig and maybe your own character from dying. It's really easy to kill yourself accidentally not only with nukes but by just.. shooting stuff, or stepping into a funny pink liquid on the floor.

Speaking of bottleneck, this game is really heavy on the CPU. The game run as fast as your FPS/60 so if your hardware can only handle up to 30 FPS, it mean you run the game at half the usual speed. Consider that if you don't want to waste your lifetime by missing frames. If the game start to get sluggish than usual, make sure to restart the game. Forcing it to run longer will be super laggy and potentially crash your game, which thankfully has a decent save file protection against crashing.

There's no more update to this game and there will be likely no more hotfixes (there's mod support for this however), is it still worth buying? If you like a hard roguelite game on its own, absolutely. Suck at it but like solving mystery and wonders? Learn wand crafting online and go wild. Wait, what do I mean by mystery? Well, unfortunately, this is the end of the review!
