Started off scared...

Mined for an hour and built a small crew...

Fights in town, my crew hid, picked the armor off the dead fights and started to feel hard...

Time to kill some goats....

The crew is now broken...

1 Man lays dead...

1 Woman is in a coma, won't wake for days...

1 Other Man can't walk no more and can only crawl...

Don't attack the goats

Payday 2 is a four player cooperative FPS game developed by Overkill. The goal of the game is to undertake heists with your friends, which if completed successfully, allow you to build and improve your character.

If you are familiar with the original payday, then you are going to be very familiar with the game play of Payday 2.

You kick things off by picking a heist to perform with your friends. Once a heist has been selected, then it's time to pick which weapons and tools to bring with you. The game forces you to think tactfully with your load-out. You are going to have to make decisions like, should I bring a saw to cut through the vault faster, or should I bring two weapons for the extra ammo and firepower?

Heists are very similar to the first payday. The locations are brand new, but the objectives on the new maps will give you flashbacks to the original. If you end up trying to go stealth, you are sneaking around, trying to avoid guards and the public, shutting down security systems, while finding keys to open locked doors. If you go loud, your probably guarding an objective, such as a drill attempting to open a door, while fighting off waves of cops. Once you are finished the heist's objectives, and have the loot, you usually end up running the loot out to your getaway car while fighting law enforcement back. There are a few new things to mix it up, such as new weapons, devices, and skills, but basically the game-play is pretty much the same as the original payday.

What really separates Payday 2 from the original is the new unlock and customization system. In payday 2, after completing a heist you will be rewarded with money, experience, and receive a random bonus. This random bonus either gives you extra experience or cash, or enables a new weapon attachment, or a new mask, or mask customization, for you to buy.

The new heists are great, there is a good variety of quick and easy jobs for quick play sessions, mixed with complex and difficult jobs to test your skills and patience. The environments are well done and you can tell effort was put into little details on the maps of the heists.

The game has a pretty kick ass soundtrack. The intensity of the music will change depending on what is happening. If your sneaking around, the music is low key, but if you are detected, the music will kick in and start going, when the waves of cops start to show up the music ramps up to fit the action. I usually turn off in game soundtracks for my own music, but if you disable the soundtrack for Payday 2 you are missing out on part of the experience.

If you do not enjoy playing games online, you will want to avoid payday 2. The game does has a single player mode, unfortunately the AI bots are no replacement for real humans and are not that helpful. Heists become very difficult as the AI does not assist with heist objectives. For example, the AI will not place drills to open locked vaults, or even help with carrying out loot to the escape vehicle. Basically, the AI is only capable of following you around, and randomly shooting at cops. This makes single player option only viable for the most simplest of heists.

If you enjoyed the original Payday at all, yes! Payday 2 is a larger, deeper experience then the original and it is an easy purchase if you enjoyed Payday 1. The larger price tag is worth it.

Rising Storm is a standalone expansion pack to Red Orchestra 2, an online, first person, war world 2 shooter. Red Orchestra 2 featured battles on the eastern front of WWII, Rising Storm changes the scenery and focuses on the pacific theatre of war.

Teamwork is crucial, and it really makes the game something special. Rising Storm is not a game that encourages Rambo's or lone wolfs. If you try to be the hero and run off on your own, you are going to be killed.

The team based game-play provides experiences and intense action that just isn't found in other titles. There is nothing like the feeling of pulling off a full team banzai run to capture a point with 32 of your teammates The game's sound is amazing with everyone screaming BBAANNNZAAIIII as gun fire screams by your head and your friend is blown into bits by an artillery shell. Tripwire really deserves credit for the sound in this game, everything sounds amazing! With a nice headset, or a good sound system, this game will blow you away.

Don't get me wrong, I love this game, but the graphics don't even come close to competing with the completion, such as graphically impressive Battlefield, or even the somewhat dated Call of Duty engine. The graphics, at best, are adequate. If graphics are important for your experience, you may want to consider skipping this title.

Your ping is going to be ugly as well. Throughout my games I've noticed my average ping to be about four times higher then a game of Team Fortress 2 or Counter Strike GO. The strange thing is, I haven't found it to impact the game-play much. Either the game's net-code is constructed to handle high ping, or I'm personally not sensitive to it.

With the realistic sound, and the horrors of war occurring all around you, this is not a game to play if your looking for a relaxing experience. Most of the populated servers are well administrated, which encourage balanced teams, which lead to close intense matches for the majority of games I've played.

The game features the usual classes such as rifleman, assault, sniper, etc, and contains a large amount historic American and Japanese weapons. New to rising storm is the flamethrower class for the Americans and the Mortar class for the Japanese. I personally found the flamethrower hard to use, but in the hand of a skilled player, it is great at clearing out choke-points and buildings. I found the mortar much easier to use and it is great at spamming explosives down range at bottlenecks on the map the Americans are trying to push through.

The game community is not large, and with the small player-base, the player community tend to be enthusiasts and provide good team based games. On the downside, as a new player, playing against these experienced players, you are going to die... a lot. As a newb, it will be frustrating as hell, but if you stick with it, you will start to learn how to play, and the game will reward you for being patient.

So... should I buy it?

As mentioned above, the game has a few problems, the graphics could be better, the difficulty can be very unforgiving, and the small player-base can make finding/joining good servers difficult. If you can look past these flaws, you won't find a better shooter, period. The guns are amazing, the game-play is great, and the sound is epic. I can easily recommend this title at its current full price. If the flaws cause you to be concerned, wait for a sale, and pick it up cheap. I promise you that you won't be sorry you did.

The Pit, like most rogue-likes, is all about navigating a vast, deep dungeon while gathering equipment, learning skills and killing monsters. As you progress through The Pit, you will increase your skills such as lock-picking, computers, mechanical, and more. You can use these skills to open doors, hack computers, and repair broken machines, and each successful attempt to do so will increase your associated skill. If you can imagine fallout, remade as a rouge-like, it would be similar to what The Pit offers.

A great feature of The Pit is the vast number of items and weapons included within the game. The Pit's weapon selection spans across a number of class types such as melee weapons, pistols, rifles, assault weapons, grenades, and more. Ammo is actually quite limited, this really makes you think about weapon selection as you battle your way though the game. Weapons will also break after continued usage, but items can be found to repair your damaged weapons. Besides its arsenal, The Pit includes items to help increase your abilities, and armour to equip to protect yourself.

I found the games controls to be a bit more hassling then they should be. By no means are they bad, but a better control interface would have been appreciated. For example, it would of been nice to be able to control more actions with the mouse or via on-screen buttons. It gets annoying having to continuously hammer the g key to pick up loot from fallen monsters, instead of having the ability to right click on the ground to simply pick them up.

I purchased the game during a steam 50% off sale for five bucks, which is a great price for this game. To justify The Pit's ten dollar regular price, I would have expected better graphics and features out of the game. If you are a real keener, feel free to jump in for full price, otherwise, wait for a sale on this one.

Skyward Collapse is a turn based god/strategy game. The goal of the game is to balance two opposing factions by supplying them with resources and buildings. You must cause enough chaos between the two factions to get your score high enough to pass through three rounds until you reach the end of the game to achieve a victory.

Skyward Collapse features one of the best tutorials I've seen in awhile. The game can be overwhelming at first, but the tutorial does a great job of holding your hand through your first game. The tutorial will teach you the basics of the game while giving you the freedom to play around and experiment as you see fit. You won't know 100% of everything after your first play-through, but you should understand the basic concepts and be ready to play a better game on your 2nd time around.

Skyward Collapse features very basic animation and graphics, it's best to think of it like a board game. Units move around the game like pieces on a board, and when they fight, they just bump into each other until one falls off the board.

I would say if you are interested by this review at all, you should go ahead and pick the game up. It is only five bucks, and even if you end up hating it, you've only wasted a few dollars. If you do not like turn based strategy, or if a lack of graphics or animation is a big turn off, stay clear of this one.
