So I was playing SoD: YOSE and was getting a little tilted with BREAKDOWN and really wasn't feeling up to putting myself through that grind for the moment. Fortunately my brother was gifted an early access title as an belated birthday present over on that OTHER game distribution platform and he offered me an opportunity to give his game a try.

What's the game he was gifted you ask? Why it's a title called SATISFACTORY . Apparently it will be coming here to STEAM sometime in the near future.

So I was very much into playing SATISFACTORY when a few things about that game started to not sit so well with me. I just wasn't feeling like I wanted to continue with my current project. I mean I had built some stuff then tore it out and rebuilt another way several times and I wasn't feeling satisfied. So time to set that game aside for the moment.

I had a think about what kind of game I was really in the mood for and I realized I was kind of feeling somewhat aggressive. I honestly was feeling like I wished I could play the original Need for Speed: Underground I & II. I looked at my games list and saw RAGE sitting there and was kind of wishing I had finished that title. Maybe later. But then I noticed MAD MAX and was thinking how much I would like to watch the original trilogy in 4K if it were possible. I hadn't played much of the game because every time I fired it up it made my GPU puke and I just gave it up 'til I could get on a PC that could play it. That time I am pleased to say has finally arrived.

I've been playing MAD MAX for a few days now and it's mostly scratching that itch I have to beat the bajeezus out of wasteland psychos, drive some fairly fast cars, use a harpoon to cause some serious mayhem and plenty of opportunities to blow stuff up.

I'm not sure how far into the game I am at the time of this post but I think I am about at or just past two thirds of the way through. The first third of the game was pretty good. I felt the story missions did a fine job of guiding and drawing me into the Max's world. Everything early on just made me feel like I wanted to play more.

Then I got further into the game and I'm finding it less interesting than it was in the beginning. Things are feeling more like a grind now than they did. I no longer feel like I'm being rewarded for my efforts and I feel like some of the toys that were fun to play with have become dull and pointless. Car combat isn't nearly so much fun as it was and the Magnum Opus seems such a sad joke at times. I feel like melee combat is also starting to take a turn for the worse.

I'll keep playing hoping that when I finally watch the credits roll I won't have that feeling of I shouldn't have bothered beyond this point.
