Hello friends,

Today I will review the game LEGO LORD OF THE RINGS. This is based on the same movie series that is also titled the game. Although not an exact match to how the movies are, it adds silly stuff and funny things in the game that are not found in the movies. The game covers all three movies. If you want to play the hobbit games, that is a different Lego series the player will have to purchase. A lot of the scenes are actually pretty accurate to the movie source.

The game also has many collectibles that the player will have to replay levels to collect. Luckily the game has "FREE MODE" which allows you choose which characters you want to play for each level. This allows you to replay them with specific powers for each character that can help you unlock secret areas or get collectibles that are not normally gotten in story mode.

PROS:

- A Lego game based on the Lord of the Rings series with whimsical scenes added into it.
- Co-Op mode to play game with 2 players.
- Side quests to finish, collectibles to find in every level, and hidden rooms.
- Characters to unlock by paying with Lego studs.
- Cloud Saving is in this version of this Lego game.
- Works somewhat on windows 11 operating system, but the player may have to adjust the refresh rate in the game, and set v-sync on to lower crashes.
- Works with controllers. I use a ZEN PRO switch controller.

CONS:

- There are several bugs in the game. These include crashing, random items moving up in the air, weird invisible walls in front of some jumps, some counters on levels are not accurate and do not show all items you collected, and many other issues. Turning on V-sync and lowering refresh rate can lower the amount of crashes in the game. Also sometimes switching characters in free mode allows you to use a puzzle if the player runs into issues with one character.
- The Lego aesthetics is not for everyone and will turn some players away.
- There are missing DLC not found in this version like other versions of the game.

Do I recommend this game? Yes, but due to the bugs, players may wish to buy when it is on a sale. The annoying bugs with crashing sometimes when fast traveling to locations, like there is invisible walls for some characters, and other issues make the game not as fun as it could be. It could be something to do with more modern machines having issues in the game. The fact the game is pretty accurate to the movies with some silly scenes thrown in is definitely something i recommend to players who have both watched the movies and players who have not.

Hello friends,

Today I will review the game LEGO BATMAN. This is one of the many Lego themed games that brings Lego looking graphics to life using the aesthetics the toys look like in real life. This series includes many different games and types. This game is one of the earlies of these Lego games. This also does not have voice acting in the game, which is done in later Lego games in the series.

Be aware due to how old the game is, IT IS RECOMMENDED to set VSYNC to ON to help with crashing and errors. I had issues with crashing until i simply turned this setting on on main menu when loading up the game, and it fixed my crashing issues in the game. This simple fix will help players when gaming.

PROS:

- A game with Lego aesthetics featuring batman and heroes of the batman universe, with villains also.
- Players can play both the heroes route and the villains route in this game, featuring 2 storylines.
- There are collectibles to get in each level, including secret red bricks to unlock specific in game cheats.
- The ability to buy characters to unlock, facts to learn about the batman universe, and cheats to use in levels.
- This game is good for young children.
- Co-OP mode. It allows for local co-op to be played in the game with 2 players. DO NOT USE REMOTE PLAY TOGETHER AS IT MAY NOT WORK.
- It works on Windows 11 operating system as long as the VSYNC setting is turned on.
- It works with many different controllers. I used a ZEN PRO switch controller. Other than the buttons on the screen not matching my controller, it worked fine.

CONS:

- No achievements are in this game. So achievement hunters might wish to avoid this one.
- No Cloud Saving for this game. That means when the game is uninstalled off a players pc, the saves will also be deleted with them.
- No voice acting in this game. Since the age of this game, it was not done as with later Lego games.
- The game may crash. To remedy this, turn on V-Sync in the menu settings to fix it. It fixed it for me.

Do I recommend this game? Yes, but be aware due to how old the game is, it requires VSYNC set to on to make sure it works on the pc. The current hardware of PC's is much better than when the game was made, so be aware other settings may have to be set on a person's pc to get it to work like the resolution, the refresh rate of the monitor, and other settings. There are many collectibles in the game and most of my playtime is actually for collecting extra stuff in the game.

Hello friends,

Today I will review the game Tales across Time. This is a indie RPG Maker game made by the same developers that made the game 8-bit Adventures series, which this author has also played in the past. As with the other game, this game looks and feels like a retro game made for a early Nintendo system. The music also fits this game very good. The one complaint I have is how short the game was. I was hoping it would be longer than what i played. Although others may find the shortness of the game good. The storyline is interesting and unique. I do not think I have played a generational rpg like this since Saga Frontier 2 on PS1. Basically, the player plays thru the ages in three different stories, from the past, present, and the future. The combat system is also interesting. Unlike other RPG's, there is no grinding involved, but the player can find special crystals that increase stats for each character. Anyways, here is my PROS and CONS list:

PROS:

- A short rpg with no grinding mechanics nor exp nor leveling.
- A story that takes the player thru adventures in time.
- Combat mechanics are easy to learn.
- The music fits the game perfectly for a 8-bit type game.
- Works on windows 11 operating system.
- Works with controllers. I use a ZEN PRO switch controller.

CONS:

- Some people do not like RPG MAKER games as this was made with that program.
- In some ways, the game is too short, but others may find it is the right length.
- The simplistic graphics may not be liked by everyone.

Do I recommend it? Only if RPG MAKER and Indie games do not really bother the player. The story is unique to keep the player involved in the game to see it's conclusion. The graphic style is retro and looks like a Nintendo game. If the buyer does not mind these type of games, I suggest buying it at least for the story and easy battle mechanics

Hello friends,

Today I will review the game Stubbs the Zombie Rebel Without a Pulse. This game was a originally released on Xbox probably about 20+ years now ago. On steam, it was put on there in 2021. Do not be fooled by the store page date. This was the date it was originally released on steam, but they removed it after awhile, then it came back with some upgrades. They did the same thing with other licensed games, like Alan Wake on steam. The game did come back with some changes. Some of the licensed music was removed, and as said previously, it was upgraded. Since I do not know about the old version, I will be reviewing this version of the game.

This is a tongue in cheek silly game about a zombie taking over a fictitious future world. The silliness of the game is even found in the writing of the game and the cutscenes. As a zombie, it is your task to take over the city of Punchbowl and infect everyone. There is also a storyline about who the zombie was and how he became a zombie. Without spoiling the game, this is all i can say. There are also abilities the zombie can use, such as farting, taking over people, and even taking off the zombies head to use as a bowling bowl. There are several different areas in the game that the zombie character needs to take over. Also, some area's have objectives and at the end of each area is a boss that must be killed. Anyways, here are my PROS and CONS list:

PROS:

- A original game that was for xbox is on steam now leading to game preservation of this game.
- Upgraded graphic styles and other fixes when it got re-released in 2021.
- Silly abilities and funny storyline. The game does not take itself seriously also.
- A couch CO-OP mode that allows 2 players to play the game simutaneously.
- Works on windows 11 operating system, but may run into some cutscenes not loading. Look under cons for more info about this issue.
- It worked fine with my controller. I use a Zen Pro switch controller.

CONS:

- I had some issues with one cutscene not loading. I did verify the files on steam, and this seemed to fix the issue.
- Due to the old age of the game, not everyone will like the style of graphics, even though it is done in a specific way to look old and retro from the 1950's. The zombies are also cartoony.
- Some people have reported lag in button uses, especially for the dancing part in the game. Apparently, some of the button prompts do not register in the game when pushing them. This is very recognized during the dancing segment in the game.

Do I recommend this game? I do, but with the caveat that players may want to buy it on sale as it may not work on newer systems. As i stated above, i had to fix my game when a cutscene would not load up, and ended up showing only a black screen. By running the steam tool "verify my files" for this game fixed it.

Hello friends,

Today I will review the game Costume Quest 2. This is a direct sequel to the game Costume Quest 1, so if players want to find out what happens because of that story, start with the first game as the storyline is a directly goes into this game at the start.

The second game in the series upgrades the battle system with new costumes, new moves, and cards you can use in fights to get a upper hand on enemies. The storyline is also very good. As stated above, it directly continues from the first game after the Grubbins on Ice dlc. Without spoiling too much, the story has to do with fighting a dentist who becomes the overlord of the world in the future and you must fight him to get Halloween back. One of the best Quality of Life changes is that they added maps in the game to help with navigation of area's and to show where to heal on fountains. There are no maps in CS1, but this really makes the second game shine, with many other QOL changes too. There are even side quests, specific cards to find, and even a secret costume to find. All of this makes the second game better really than the first game, in this author's opinion. Anyways, here are my PROS and CONS list:

PROS:

- A direct story continuation from the first Costume Quest, which is also available on steam.
- New costumes to fight enemies.
- Quality of Life changes to make the game better from the first game.
- Side quests and even a secret costume.
- A good for children game about Halloween.
- Works on windows 11 operating system.
- Works with controllers. I used a Zen Pro switch controller.

CONS:

- The buttons shown on the game may not match newer controller button mapped out.
- The cartoony graphics may not be liked by everyone.
- Some of the achievements are hard to get and may requiring replaying the whole game to get them. Technically, this is my second time playing this game and i got the harder achievements this time.

Do I recommend this game? Yes, I found this game very fun. The rpg mechanics and the story both shine in this direct sequel. Improvements in graphics, quality of life upgrades, and newer costumes made this game a fun time to play. This game is also perfect for young children. Many people have posted they want a third game in this series, but according to the developers, they have no interest at this time to make any new games in this IP. That is sad, as this was a enjoyable play, for me it was quite good. Again, make sure to play the original game first as the stories are connected to each other, and if you play this game right after that one, it will make more sense.

Hello friends,

Today I will review the game Costume Quest. This game is quite old now, and I personally was not even sure it would work on my newer windows 11 operating system and pc, but it worked fine. In fact I had no issues with this game, and even the controller, which was a switch controller, worked fine. Actually, this game was more bug free than some newer games I have played recently.

This game revolves around kids on Halloween getting kidnapped by monsters. The player can choose to either play as a male or female child and run around collecting candy from neighborhoods while on the quest to save their brother or sister from the monsters. The kids in the game can utilize their Halloween costumes to become overpowered creatures to fight the monsters. There are also collectibles in the game the players can find, and even special cards to collect, and various quests to complete for rewards. The game itself plays like a rpg with turns like the older final fantasy games. In this version, the DLC, Grubbins on Ice, is included. Just make sure to play Grubbins on ice only after beating the main game. Having played this game originally on xbox 360 from the xbox store, I must say it was fun to play this again, and I really want to play the second part again. Perhaps after this review, I will. Anyways, here is my PROS and CONS:

PROS:

- A great game to play around Haloween season. In fact one of the few games that is Halloween themed and for children to enjoy playing.
- Cartoony graphics and rpg mechanics.
- Side quests, and collectibles to find.
- Some costume powers on the overworld allows more locations to be explored.
- This game worked fine on my Windows 11 Operating System.
- The game worked fine with my controller and it worked fine. I would recommend using a controller with this game if possible.

CONS:

- Some newer controllers may not be recognized by the game, and may show the old button configurations for older type of controllers used on it.
- The artistic style may not be liked by everyone who plays it, considering it is cartoony.
- The game is quite short, even with the added dlc, Grubbins on Ice.

Do I recommend it? Yes. There is even a sequel on steam, Costume Quest 2. In fact, some people liked the game series so much, alot of fans want a Costume Quest 3. Sadly, it appears the developers have moved on to different IP's and projects. The game is great for children to play, especially around the Halloween season, or any time of year since it is such a fun game to play. If you did enjoy this game, consider getting the second game, called Costume Quest 2 to support the developers of this game.

Hello friends,

Today I will review the game Dreamscape. On it's surface this game is a simple rogue dungeon game thru the same dungeon with different map configurations. In it's depth, this game dwells on psychological issues such as mental illness, death and loss, depression, anxiety, and many other issues which can effect people. Being a person with depression myself, I feel very close with the protagonist of this game. The main character is a female woman named Cassidy. The player can explore her story and what happened to her while finding memories exploring her dreams at night, and talking to people when awake during the day. The player then repeats this cycle to learn more and more about the main character.

There are also unlockable weapons and items the player can unlock for the dungeon nightmares. This includes increasing item levels, adding extra stuff to the dungeon levels, such as healing fountains, and other functions to change around how the nightmare dungeons operate. There is also a selection that allows the player to make the dungeons easier or harder.

By mastering weapons and skills, the player can find the nightmare dungeons easier per run. Also, by befriending people when awake, they add stats boosts when in the dream dungeon. For example, the character named FERNANDO increases armor levels while in the nightmare dungeon. There are also some quality of life features in this game, such as the ability to teleport around a floor on a dungeon to rooms the player already explored for fast traveling, the ability to select a game setting that makes the game automatically harder or easier depending on how the player dies or wins. Note that these kinda settings are not found in all rogue type games, but are very good to have when people play these types of games.

Players will die alot, even on the easiest levels in the game. Do not get discouraged, as that is part of the charm of a rogue game. This is not as hard as other rogue games, but also not easy either. It is more mid level. It is harder than RAD, but easier than HADES, both of which i personally played in the past. Anyways, here is my PROS and CONS list:

PROS:

- Great artistic looking places to visit while awake.
- Interesting places in the nightmare dungeons that reflects the main character's subconscious's mind. The deeper the player go, the darker it gets.
- A game that reflects on how people deal with death, depression, loneliness, and other mental issues and illnesses.
- The music reflects how the main character feels while awake in her apartment, and in her nightmare dreams.
- Unlockable items and weapons in the dream dungeons.
- The ability for players to choose the difficulty curve, and the fact players can put a setting to auto detect how they do in the game to auto change difficulty.
- Works on Windows 11 operating system.
- Use of controller works great and is recommended. I used a ZEN PRO switch controller.

CONS:

- Some people may not like that the game can be considered WOKE due to a main character as a female protagonist and other aspects.
- The graphic type of how people are represented may turn off players when they see it. They look like dolls without faces. Perhaps this was done on purpose to make the player imagine what they may look like on their own.
- This can be a difficult curve for newer rogue players. I suggest trying RAD or HADES first and seeing if the player can beat it. Then if a player can beat that game, they will find this game about the same and not too difficult.

Do I personally recommend this game? Perhaps it is also because i suffer from my own mental illness demons like the main character in this game, but i found it explains it in it's own way. Using the artistry of the nightmare world to show different levels of subconscious states made me feel like my own dreams are somewhat like this. I do recommend this game. Although the artistic style and classical music to reflect how the character feels at times may not be liked by everyone, it is very good getting it's message across. The quality of life settings, such as the ability to fast travel in explored levels of the nightmare dungeon and the auto setting that makes the game easier or harder depending on how the player does are great. I suggest rogue dungeon lovers try out this game.

Hello friends,

Today I would like to review the game DOOM AND DESTINY. This is the original version of the game, as there are different versions of the game. This game is a parody RPG. It makes fun of many other games and pop culture things. The main games play like any other rpg's with side quests, and silly one liners with the parody silliness. There are also many secrets you can find in this game. The characters the main player chooses are already pre-made and made from another game the developers previous made in Italian. The game also has sequels and a remastered edition which improves on all the things in this game. Anyways, here is my PROS and CONS list:

PROS:

- A rpg based on older rpgs.
- Many parody jokes about other games and pop culture.
- The music is not bad and is fun to play to.
- Many secret rooms and areas to find.
- Lots of side quests to complete.
- Controllers works with this game. I used a Zen Pro switch controller. It even used the rumble feature, which i find odd for such a older rpg.
- Works on windows 11 operating system.

CONS:

- The artstyle might not be for everyone as it is likened to that of RPG Maker games.
- The corny jokes also might be not liked by everyone.

Do I recommend this game? To a certain type of person, this game is quite good. The corny and parody jokes can be quite funny. Again, if a player is more concern with graphics, they may want to avoid buying this game. Also, the player may wish to get the remastered edition as it adds more stuff to the game, and this is the original version of the game. If you do like this game, please make sure to check out the rest of the games in the series.

Hello friends,

Today I wish to review the game Stick RPG 2: Director's Cut. This game started out as a flash game, but eventually came to steam after some time. This version is a upgraded version, or a GOTY edition compared to the original version found on a flash game site, like newgrounds or others on the internet.

This is in fact a rpg with a character that is a stick figure. If you ever played a game with stick figures, like the henry stickman collection, it is similiar in graphical design to that. In this game, the main character gets teleported into a 2.5 dimension, but wants to go back to their own dimension. The way to do this is to find certain items found in the world by doing quests or buying them. Most of the time, the character will be trying to earn money to purchase items or use it for activities in the game. Certain activities in the game increase the player's character's stats. These stats include charisma, strength, intelligence, and karma. By increasing these, any job the player character is working at, they can ask for a raise. This depends on their overall stats. So, in order to get money, the player must upgrade stats, and work at job and ask for a raise. This is the whole game formula, the character needs enough money to buy things or to upgrade stats. There are also quests mixed in that require the character to have certain items. For example, someone might ask for a light to light a cigarettes, and the character must have one in their inventory to get it used. This will appear as a text option to use it for npc. Some items that can be found can be used, but do not use them. Only use items you purchase from food restaurants to eat to heal hp's. I made a mistake on using a bottle of alcohol to heal, and i needed it for a later quest. Do not use items dropped by enemies.

Also, you can buy weapons to help fight gangs and stuff. This depends on your karma level. If your evil, you will fight different enemies. If your character is good, you fight gang members. The character can buy weapons at various places in the game, or they drop off defeated enemies. Also, you can combine items dropped or found and use them to make wepons and upgrades. Anyways, here is my PROS and CONS list:

PROS:
- A rpg with minimalist graphics.
- A system to earn cash by doing jobs and buying things to help other npc's.
- Able to fight different enemies depending on the character's karma. This also dictates if you play a good or bad character.
- Different maps with different stores.
- The player can buy buisnesses and stores from the bank, but this takes lots of money.
- The game continues off after the player beat it so players can work on achievements they missed or earn more money since their stats do not decrease or reset.

CONS:

- The settings do not save, so the player is forced to change settings everytime they close and load up the game. For example, Full screen does not save it's full screen mode, so everytime the game opened for me, it was windowed.
- The minimalist type of game will not be for everyone.
- There is some developer website you can make a account for, but i never did this. Players do not do this, and i advise against it since this is a older game and maybe the account could leak possible information about the players steam account credentials. It is not required to sign in to play the game, as i played it fine without making a online account.
- It is possible to use some items that are required for certain quests or weapon developers later in the game. For example, i drank a bottle of alcohol that is required for making a flamethrower. I was not aware of this and thus, i could not make the flamethrower. Although this is more of a nitpik, i feel i should of been at least warned before i used a quest item before using it casually. So i recommend do not use any drops from enemies or quests, and only buy food from restaurant for healing. Anything that is food related that drops most likely can be used for another quest in the future.

Do i recommend it? Maybe get it on a sale. This is one of times that i wish steam had a neutral rating on their review system, as i would give this a neutral rating. This game does not deserve a negative review, because it does exactly what it advertises. It is a rpg with minimalist type graphics featuring a stick man as the main character in a modern city where they must earn money to open stats or buy weapons. Due to the age of the game, it is not recommended signing into the developer site, if they exist anymore, as this could be a security issue that could come around and cause issues for the player who signed into it and make a account.

Hello friends,

Today i will review the game Spiritfarer: Farewell Edition. This is considered the definitive edition of this game. It added a bunch of quality fixes and new quests and npc's. As this is the only version I have played, my review will be on this version of the game.

The game itself is hard to describe in some ways. It is a game about accepting death, celebrating those who lives changed the character's life. In fact, I personally think some of these characters are based on real life people who lived at one time or another, and effected each other's lives. The majority of this story is dealing with death, but the artistic way the game shows the world with the music is very beautiful. For example, the ocean shown in the game is a representation of limbo, and the blood river is a representation of the river of Styx.

Representations aside, the gameplay focus on the main character STELLA, who is in charge of ferrying souls to the other side by Charon. Her cat also helps her out with this job, and this allows a second player using local co-op to play as the cat. There is also collecting things to do stuff in the ship stella is given. Each collectible can be refined on certain things on the ship. For example, Stella can grow things by building a farm or field. This all takes place on a ship that can be upgraded to even support more functions and things. By exploring and collecting things, more ship functions are unlocked, and this leads to new areas being accessed in limbo. Anyways, here is my PROS and CONS list:

PROS:
- A story about celebrating life and death. Although the graphics are cartoony, do not take this game lightly as it has very deep meanings in it.
- Upgradeable things on the ship of the main character.
- New powers Stella can learn opening the world more.
- Quests to do for lost souls to help to the other side.
- Many things to collect and find.
- Local Co-Op allows 2 players to play at same time. Only local co-op, although it may work with Steam Remote play.
- Beautiful world to explore and music that fits all aspects in the game.
- Works on windows 11 operating system.
- Controller works with the game. I used a ZEN PRO switch controller.

CONS:

- There is a treasure map bug i have personally run into. Basically, the treasure at the location does not appear. It has been reported to the developers. You can read about this particular bug here:

https://ad.gamersky.info/@steamcommunity.com/app/972660/discussions/8/4509878102692472943/

Do I recommend this game? Yes, i much do recommend it. If you want to teach someone about death, this game can be used as a tool, even having others find solace if they had death in their own lives, like me. MY uncle died earlier this year, which still makes me sad, but seeing people being helped by stella to go to the other side made me feel better. Do not the cartoony style graphics fool you, the player. This game is incredibly deep with concepts about life and death. This is not a action game, but a cozy type game that explores deep concepts such as death, life, and other aspects of these topics. I suggest if you want to feel some comfort about what happens to those who pass on, try this game out.
