Hello friends,

Today i will review the free steam game called Fistful of Frags. This game setting, as the name suggests, is in the wild west. The unknown main character player fights several people online to get the best points and highest position on the game. This is a online fighting game that is free.

While i have not played this game in years, i experienced bugs and hackers when i was playing it. This is a main thing on online games. They always have some kind of hackers or bug exploiters. I found the hackers worse than bug exploiters though.

Looking at newer posts though, it seems they have a pretty strict banning system in place now. This could make less hackers in the game maybe.


I honestly do not like this type of game, but as i am trying to be unbiased in my reviews, the game does what it describes and does it pretty good. I recommend it for a shootin..tootin...fighting old west style game.

Hello friends,

I am reviewing the game Shadowgrounds Survivor. This is actually a sequel to another game called Shadowgrounds. Both this game and it's previous installment are bird eye's shooter games where you fight in a sci fi setting with different monsters. Don't expect a ground breaking story as there is hardly any. The main hero basically goes around exploring and killiing monsters in a space colony.

This is basically a run and gun game. You go around killing monsters and run from ones you cannot kill or get ganged on. There are alot of games similiar to this one. A example is space siege is very similiar to this game, which i also played.

Honestly, i find 3d game shooters more fun, like doom or the old duke nukems. I don't even play them very much. Still, this game is ok how it is.

I am unsure if i can recommend this game, but it was mostly bug free when i played it, so i guess it is ok for what it is in the end, a bird's eye shooting game.

NOTE: Even if Ys1 and Ys2 are seperate games now, the review is not. This review is mostly about Ys 1, with some Ys2 information sprinkled in.

Ys 1 REVIEW

Hello friends,

I recently played YS 1. How do you pronounce that? It is like EESE. Anyways, this game incorporates the BUMP system, and is the same in Ys 2 also. Basically, old games on the SNES did this, including LAGOONA. This means to fight monsters, you literally run into them and bump them, but not straight into them. You need to fight them at a angle. If you run into them in a straight line, you will be damaged alot for doing it.

The games consists of one hero that is in several games. Unlike another rpg series, which changes every game, this game series features the same hero in each game. I find it refreshing a rpg does that, as it continues the main hero's story. Only the mechanics in later games change. Anyways, here is my PRO/CON list:

PROS:

-Classic old school gaming
-Side quests
-Huge boss fights
-Controller support (using a controller for these games is recommended!)

CONS:

-Ill put the bump system here because most people are not fond of it. To me though...im actually used to it..being from that old era of games myself.

-The graphics are ok, but there not the best. Consider this when buying the game.

-I had some issues getting the game to fullscreen. The latest windows 10 updates i think break it..or some interaction between windows 10 and the game does this.


So if your a fan of the older snes/super famicon games, you might enjoy this game. I recommend for bump and jump fun. BE aware the higher difficulties are extremely unforgiving, especially on the bosses.

SPECIAL NOTE: Ys 1 and Ys 2 used to play together, but they are seperated now and considered their own games. Be aware of this.

YS 2 REVIEW:

Since both games share this review, i will review Ys 2 here:

Ys 2 improves on the features of Ys 1, including magic. Magic after ys 2 is actually put into most of the game series after ys 2. The magic improves on the combat as it allows for long distance attacks on bosses and monsters. The story is a direct continuation of Ys 1, so if you plan on playing this, do it right after Ys 1.

PROS of Ys 2:

- new magic combat system
- mascots
- lots of side quests including the new friending mechanic to make people like you more.

CONS:

- Ys 2 still features the bump system from Ys 1. Later games do not have this mechanic.
- The graphics still look like their from the SNES era..this does not bother me personally, but some people do not old style graphics.


Recommended for the fact it is as fun as Ys 1, and you like classic games, you will love this game.

Welcome to my re-vamped review of YS: ORIGIN. Originally, i only had two sentences for this review. I felt it was time to fix this issue.

This Y's series games is not like the others in the series. It has no towns and only one location to fight at. The story is also quite different with 3 interesting characters to choose from. Do not consider this how normal Y's games are if you using this to compare to other games in the series. This is also canonical the first game in the timeline and the prequel to Ys1 and Ys2. Even though it came out later, this is the prequel. Here is my pro/con list:

PROS:

-The prequel to the rest of the Ys series. Timeline wise, this is not the first Ys game ever made, but the events in it take place before Ys1 and Ys2. Do not base the rest of the series based on how this one plays though..
- There characters to play.
-Nice music and graphics.
- You can unlock new outfits and such.
-Arena mode and Time trial modes (after clearing game).


CONS:

-This is unlike other Ys games..no town..and the storyline is dependent on the character you pick.
- This game does not feature ADOL, not playable in main story, which i see as a negative.
- The area's for all three characters are similar.
- You are unable to skip certain scenes in the game. You will need to grin and bear it.

Recommended if you like the rest of the YS series. Just make sure to play this one first, since what happens in this game is directly related to Ys1 and Ys2.

Welcome to my review for Dungeons and Dragons: Daggerdale. This is a decent hack and slash game while exploring a dungeon. Do not buy for multiplayer because multiplayer is basically non-existant. You could probably play it with couch co-op or using a lan direct connection line though but only using an outside program. The game maybe short and not very playable, but it does use up your time.

There are different characters you can select to play as also. Note that i have not played this in awhile, so i do not clearly remember which characters these are. I believe there are 5 different characters you can select to play as. Here is my PROS/CONS list:

PROS:

- A adventure set in the Dungeons and Dragons world.

- Different characters with different races to select.

- Quests and side quests to do.

- Remote play together may work with 2 or more characters. I have not personally tested this program, but try it out and leave comment below if you do please.

CONS:

- Multiplayer is not longer available in the game..but it may work with remote play together.

- Pre-made characters that you cannot change much.

- You require a outside program to use mutliplayer using a third party lan connection program. (remote play together may work, but unconfirmed.)

Avoid this game if your buying to play the multiplayer function of it. This game used to use the Gamespy program to connect to other players. That program shut down a very long time.

I only recommend if you want to play a single player game nowadays, but the game originally used to be multiplayer. This kinda negative effects how people perceive the game. Otherwise, without multiplayer, this is a single player hack and slash game. I cannot recommend it unless you really like hack and slash single player games that are made originally for multiplayer.

I wrote this review awhile ago, but the developers have been improving this game alot. They now added voice acting to most characters. This game is a spirited remake of Ys3: Wanderers from Ys which originally was on the Super Nintendo or Super Famicon, from wherever you live.

This game first was on a portable gaming system, but eventually got ported to pc. This port is very stable. This is not like the original Ys 1 and Ys 2 as it actually lets you control a sword with a controller. This game gets rid of the old "BUMP" system from Ys1 and Ys2. Anyways, here is my pro/con list:

PROS:
- Continuation of game from Ys 1 and Ys 2. This is third in the series chronologically, not timeline.
- Same graphics as Ys1 and Ys2.
- A new place with a new storyline
- The return of magic!
- Voice acting on mostly the main characters. Some lesser characters are not voiced.
- Actual sword controlling.
- The ability to "jump".
- New soundtracks for every location in game! You can choose alternative ones in the options menu.

CONS:

- The game seems too short to me.
- The learning curve is semi medium..it does have a easy mode though...

Recommended for great game in the YS series. Check out the rest of most of the YS series found on steam.

Great gameplay, hard bosses.


SPECIAL NOTE: You may have to fine tune your graphics settings for this game as if you want to do decent screenshots, it is picky about settings.
