Much better then other FPS Co-op games.

First and foremost I must say this has been my favorite Atelier game so far.

I love that their is no time constraints. You can explore, battle, and gather without worrying about having to do things in X amount of time.

Overall a great game. Fairly short but enjoyable.

The only downside to the game is the alchemy. I miss mixing traits like in the other games and making overpowered gear and gimping battles to make yourself super over powered. Yet the simplified alchemy makes the game kinda flow smoother since I spend less time farming/experimenting/combining traits.

I stared into the abyss of Rule 34 and it stared back!

First off I do want to state I really do enjoy the concept of this game. I purchased it on sale and was hoping for far more then what I actually received. I only played the game after the 1.0 update so I can not comment on how it was before then.

First off, I find single player more fun to play then if I spend time with random people. You may end up with one guy that just wishes to troll everyone. Races to the teleporter and activates it before anyone can collect any items or do anything else. As soon as your done fighting the boss and think to collect some loot, the same person if they survived will activate the teleporter. A few fixes I would love to see to this is a vote system to start the teleporter and to proceed that requires everyone currently alive to interact with it.

I can see how mutliplayer can be enjoyable if you have some friends who know how to work together but with randoms I rarely have a good run.

Multiplayer match making is absolute trash and needs to be fixed and completely overhauled.

The final boss and it's level are trash. The level design is boring and lacking a lot. The final boss is either one hit killing people or gets melted down super fast if everyone properly farmed gear. The fight tends to be just boring. No surprises, no randomness.

The enemy variety is fairly nice with them gaining various traits when they are elites.

Some of the items are kinda bland and lord if you are new and don't know what the items do then good luck. A nice little stat page when you press Tab that shows your stats would be nice. The Tab menu could use some rehashing in how it displays your team and items.

I do hope that in the future more maps, heroes, skills, items, enemies, and overall more things to do are added.

Sadly since I enjoyed single player more then the trash that is multiplayer, I can not in good faith recommend this to anyone that doesn't have team oriented friends that are playing it as well.

I really like the story of Alternative but the only real draw back I get from this is that there is no different endings. The choices that change the ending just adds a different dialog section to a portion of the story but otherwise one single play through get's you the whole game's story.

I do like this one more then Unlimited but Alternative should of been like the last route available in Unlimited with lots of extra stuff added for it.

Anyways good story and a great read even quite a few years after I read this with the fan translated patch.

Worth it on sale definitely if you have not read it.

Frankly I really enjoy the Muv-Luv Series. I read through them all using fan translated patches awhile back and bought them on steam to support localization efforts.

The story is fairly typical in romance efforts for visual novels of its time. I personally like Unlimited more then the regular story with Muv-Luv Alternative being my favorite.

Worth a read and still enjoyable going through the series again.
