I read a very heart breaking post from the dev today, and just wanted to leave my support to show love and acceptance for the work they've done. its okay to take your time, and okay to express your frustrations. the vocal minority of displeased gamers do not represent the majority of players. This game is a labor of love like no other, and those kinds of things take time. I have more than gotten my money's worth in the years, and will continue to exceed it every time new content is added. For me, that can take as long as it needs. If you are wondering whether or not you should buy this game, this is a 20$ dollar game that has gotten years of free updates and support without asking for a single extra dime. It is likely that this will continue to be the case, but even failing that, 20$ is more than a steal with the amount of content in the game and that continues to be added to the game. It is possibly the best zombie sim out there, and has a thriving accessible mod scene through the Workshop to smooth over potential issues you may find. It's highly customizable and incredibly stable in my experience, and it has multiplayer support. Very Good, Highly Recommend.

Truly an amazing addition to the Half Life series, should be official. Just play it if you like half-life at all.

The game itself is a blast, i was skeptical at first but i really enjoy the planning and executing of you own little heist speedrun. Honestly though, I think im more excited for the prospect of other games in this engine. You could make a great survival horror game out of this, and I cant wait for modding to hopefully take off and deliver on these dreams.

A real mess of a classic.

I enjoyed every hour I put in this mod. It certainly isn't perfect, but it breathed new life into a game I have put far too much time into. It brought its own world that I was excited to explore for the majority of my time with it, until the Skyrim fatigue eventually set back in around hour forty five. Its changes to the leveling and combat were exciting, leading to scrappy battles requiring all the resourcefulness early on, and steadily growing more powerful in a way that felt authentic and never too broken. Most importantly though, it brought a story that I fell in love with, but not because its groundbreaking or setting a new bar, but because of the character driven nature of the journey you experience.

I probably cared more about an individual headlining character than all of the TES series combined, and that goes for each and everyone of the main cast. I went in completely blind, and I suggest anyone else do the same, but for a quick rundown with very vague details that hopefully wont spoil anything see following blurb at your own risk. The story is essentially a fantasy take on a popular scfii series, and anyone who has experienced it will pick up on this fairly quickly as I did, but it does deviate a lot more as it progresses, more than enough to stand on its own. A lot of expected tropes get turned on their head, and you are fighting against an enemy that has yet to be defeated, and are quite good at doing what they do, with countless others having failed to accomplish your goals. The stakes feel real, the struggles and sacrifices made as you progress feel real, the bonds you forge with those around you, at least for me, feel real. The story was great, but it was the characters, and how they developed and handled the story that had me hooked. It goes to some very dark and tragic places, and the world of Vyn is not a happy one, nor are the stories of its inhabitants.

All of this is complimented by a score that is haunting, beautiful, and when the action kicks in, powerful and intense, and it never felt out of place. It does have some flaws, namely stability. While I would sometimes go hours without crashes, they can occur rather often, though I would fault this more on the engine than Sureai themselves. It did have a tendency to happen at some inconvenient times, taking me out of some pretty serious moments, but overall not something I would write the game off for.

Sureai has made something special here. I would gladly pay for this game and their next, though preferably on a better engine.
TL;DR: Game good, new story and characters way better than TES, ears feel good, kind of wobbly tho, still 10/10.
