Rimworld has created a genre of its own. There is a reason for this. This is amazing. That is the reason.

Just a pleasant Game in every possible way. <3

Just a Quick take, because i imagine this not being up to date for long:

It is early access and you get to notice. But! You can definitely tell that the foundation is done, and that foundation rocksolid and - at least for me - worth the money.
If you are unsure: watch some videos about how far the game is to get a feel.
basically: At the Moment there are no dialogs or quests. Some Story is hinted at, but thats it. This does me the feeling that something is "missing" from time to time.

So whats there is Building/Crafting/Farming and the Dungeon
The Building / Crafting / Farming System is really what made me throw the money down. You can easily burn through the day just enjoying the system and grinding yourself through the Techtree and building and decorating yourself some houses.

As I am normally not enjoying dungeons that much I have to note that I just spent a couple hours down there and really really enjoyed myself.

My Idea is basically to gorge myself on the available content for the holidays and I'm pretty sure I'll get what I want from that game during that time. :)

I'm really looking forward to then let it sit for some months and coming back with a new start when the developers had the time to get past these first days after throwing it out there. :)


tldr: A solid early access game that does not need to promise the world to reach the "finished game"-status.

It is paradox, it is massive, it is space. =) And it just keeps getting improved upon.
