Silly game, that is just a simple get in in fight. With momentum physics for attacks rather than swings. With a dark souls element of upgrading using "Juice"

Goes on as long as the player likes to play with a way to easily farm should you reach a point where you can't succeed. Then ends with a swirly punch line. At least for now. Doesn't seem like there is a lot of things finished but hey. Free game.

Fun game, familiar things, yet new things, Enjoyable for the last 50 hours will be enjoyable for the next 1000.

Enjoy the game, don't listen to big industry trying to dictate what is fun and what is not.
Be free and have fun. a good 7/10 or 8/10 once it is maybe fully on course and finished

Okay I would make this a positive but seeing as I would make this a 4/10
It is a negative... So lets see what the pros and cons are

Pros
- Is a space game with space combat.
- Has some cool concepts.
- weapons selection is large
- has some easy to learn things.

Cons
-Not everything is explained.

-Unexplained limitations Unexplained gear levels : Normal, Refined, Calibrated, advanced, and superior


-planet exploration gets boring after about the 10th time of doing it not enough unique POI's to keep it interesting -could change in the future with player created POI's

-Weight limit, yes I can understand its there to stop the hoarder mantality. However this severe limiting of weight carry sucks. not to mention storage is often only on yourself and your ship which has storage size as well this improved if you add on storage modules but that has limitations cause of ship limitations.

-Ship limitations: want to put multiple reactors on your ship? Have different sections, like a power for weapons, power for thrusters? Well too bad. we are going to have only one reactor.
Need that grav jump distance? nope only one grav drive and the grave drive only jumps so far and is lowered per part you add
Want to have more weapons? Nope have to have limitations of how much power they use. You only get 12 points of power per system.

Weapons: we can break this up with different kinds there are.
There are the ballistic weapons which is the vast majority of the weapons there are.
There are laser weapons which have only 3 variations
There are particle weapons
and lastly mag weapons
with the melee weapons seeming to be an after effect using the same animation and speed of attack for all of them.

And here it comes the big phobe time - seems that the world even if you run off at the start of the game and all. You find that most of the leader role characters are POCs or women, or both. Now... in a world... galaxy/universe of so many people yet... those are the ones at the top? Ugh doesn't make sense.
Only found maybe 1 that doesn't fit the prior two stipulations. but that is the case most times. Not to mention some of the missions want to push that the woman is the best choice; When they have zero plans offered and the competition has something to offer in the way of plans. So no the initial circle jerk goes deeper into the game than the character creator. and these are symptoms of people being too cush in life that need something to rage about or fight over or use controversy to try and get attention.

ust a nostolgic for the old mechwarrior games, Makes it hard to say this is bad. Though I will do my best on that behalf to be at least informative instead of being an empty, "Game Good"

So lets start -
Pros:
Its a mechwarrior game, You get to pilot giant war machines and destroy many things, Buildings, tanks, aircraft, other mechs.
Has something of a storyline and is understandable if you piece meal the story, though instead of a connected campaign, it is more an open world one where you can do any number of other missions besides the main campaign.
Good graphics if you have the PC to handle them.

Cons:
Half worked on equipment mechanics.
Mechlab sucks, can't go full armor and be a hornet, namely cause as of yet Clan tech lacks unless you go to mods.
LRMS, mechwarriors 2, 3, and 4 had LRMs able to be used at all ranges. From far away to up close. Now there is a minimal arm distance for LRMs meaning you have to be at range which is impossible since most mech fights happen at 10-299 meters. The minimal range of LRMs not given.
Time passage, is a bit too much a campaign that should at most take a year or two ends up being some 50 year crusade which in this universe means that the clan wars will have happened and tugged away any chances of tracking down the Mercenaries that killed your father along with comstar getting away with it since the Player (if first time) will be too in awe and enjoying the RNG missions in other sectors to even care about the main missions.
And said before Mechlab sucks, Even if it is to give mechs more a single purpose use, I would rather the MW4 mechlab as it was much easier to understand.
Also as a side note armor seems more like paper, and cause armor is seemingly hard to get to max without later mentioned things, it doesn't help thngs.

Bonus pros
I think the only saving grace of the current Mechlab is the teired weapon system which you will start with teir 0 to teir 1 at the start of the game, and if you have the DLC the lance you have will have the teir 1 weapons for all mechs meaning a small boost in fire power.
Bonus Con
Mods... mods are a mixed bag, they are good and they are bad... Good since they allow the game to be eexpanded upon, But also shows that the OG devs did a half Arsed job to need Mods to carry the game.

Though it is understandable this is the second part to the mods, is that players must colaberate and share what mods they have with one another to play Mulitplayer coop or even PVP. So this is still a 50% deal for this bonus con.

Mechlab took away the ability to upgrade or downgrade engines or switch armor types, not to mention you cannot install bonus items like XL engies, FF armor, or Endosteel, it must come pre equipped. Just like Jumpjets have to have slots to equip, and masc systems have to be pre built on mechs meaning you only have a handful of mechs any masc system will work on making it hardly worth it. Again ties to mods to get the fix items for this F up at least for the Masc systems. Jump jets are still well and fully messed up.

Though I think I have run it dry now... the rest of the complaints might just have to do with my skill level with the game And others can be found in discussion and over the dropship and why being unable to buy merc unit assets besides mechs is bad, the chain being called "Upgrading the Dropship" The other a drool chain over what mechs might the clan DLC bring.

More than this the Mighty Pancake doesn't know, But he does know that you should have a breakfast good day!

Quite the fun game. And hey, it has a mix of things. Though seems I need to learn about it since there are things I would like that are likely there just don't know about that...

Have a few hours into this, and likely more to come so will say that it is good.

I don't know why but every time i tried to login it wouldn't reconiz my username/password. and I know i was putting it in right. so if you experience the same problem. suggestion uninstall and never touch again.
