Death's door is one of the most charming and fun games I have played in a while. With every step you can really feel the love and care that was taken when creating this game.

The story is very well introduced and one of the few good examples of throwing someone into a world and having them unravel and figure the game out for themselves. Usually I find this type of storytelling annoying because writers will often imply things that were not explicitly stated leaving the player somewhat confused, but in this case not only was this phenomena not nearly as present as it is in some other games, it was somewhat implied as the player is trying to solve a mystery.

This same phenomenon is present with the gameplay. There are not many tutorials, but this is because the gameplay is very simple and it is rather the enemies that the player needs to learn. Each enemy type is well designed with a different fighting style for each keeping gameplay interesting and fun as the player will have to adapt to new enemy types throughout the game. The game is definitely a little difficult at times, but I never died more than 10 times to the same enemy. I got through most boss fights within a few tries.

The art style and cinematography is perfectly minimalistic with it never being overwhelming, while also looking very pretty. They also used many bright colors for each of the different weapon attacks from enemies and yourself which I appreciate (bright colors wow).

The characters are all well written and perfectly portrayed by the text dialogue. Your character is a perfect silent protagonist, which fits in well with the plot.

Overall very fun game and I would recommend it to almost all types of gamers. Also a good gift (I got it as a gift).

PS: The end game is well done and very enjoyable.
