"Conceptually it’s a fantastic villain for the show. The main theme of Amphibia is change and how we react to it. Having the villain be the fossilized conglomeration of Amphibia’s monarchy, all the past rulers who refuse to pass on, change their mind, and continue to whisper into the ears of Andrias in the hopes that things can go back to the way they were before… it’s hard to think of a better metaphor for the ways “tradition” and “culture” can hold us back from creating a better world.
