House Redoran also did not drive them out with /relative ease/, as they had alot of political issues with getting all the houses to actually co-operate at first so there wasn't an immediate response, and also from the issues already stated above and in the lore. But if they actually had their full strength they definitely could have.
You definitely have to give Redoran props for the retaliation, and actually putting the sap hopped argonians on enough of a backfoot that they couldn't invade again. Aswell as the political savvy to navigate somewhere as complicated as Morrowind AND the politics of the argonians at the same time.
