why do people keep asking for lgbt+ rep in tf2 when we already have it in the game :steamhappy:

Because they’re hungry for steam points :steamhappy:
It's a rage bait that's also beating a dead horse
Excellent question

Yeah, it's easy bait for steam points. TF2 is pretty culturally diverse, especially for the release era of it's original release, and both the comics and the game are pretty beloved by a lot of LGBTQ+ folks. But it's like hitting a hornet's nest, to get a swarm of gullible people who decry any minorities existing in video games being 'woke DEI ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥'.

It's the same reason you see threads saying they should remove Windows support and make TF2 Linux only-- it's stupid nonsense bait, but it's stupid nonsense bait that's tried and true, people get annoyed about it, reply, and toss clown awards at the person who wants to farm free steam points. Because this behavior is given a tangible reward, as long as it 'works', the disingenuous bait posts will continue.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

😭 Why are steam points so important people make bait posts to farm it

19 our of 20 times it's rage bait from people far too stupid to figure out any other bait angle, for every 1 instance of some obnoxious people wanting undue treatment.
Only annoying part is they won't shut up and their own sort trade clowns so they can feel real.

They're more attention seeking than the emotional colorful people they despise. Sad.

because steam points can be used to increase your steam level, which at the very highest end can grant passive income, and because there are people who will pay to purchase them from other players as a result, there is a small financial incentive. receiving or giving an award also gives steam XP, about the tenth that crafting a trading card badge does.

it is a small amount in the grand scheme of things, but those that were already interested in posting bait now have a carrot on a stick to shoot for that low hanging fruit

theoretically, at the highest echelons of it, because of the way steam trading card booster packs are distributed based on steam levels. . . yes, technically, if your steam level is 1000+, but that's not realistic.

more realistically, steam points can be sold to other users in trades, or if you want a bigger friends list or something they're also useful for that. there is material value in them, even if really small.
anyone ship soldier and scout? i think scout is a submissive femboy and soldier is a dominant daddy
