Yes, the game is exactly what it sounds like. You hunt monsters, you get their parts, you make stronger equipment for you and your pet palico, rinse and repeat.

For soulsborne lovers, this game is very much a boss rush simulator and will not fail to deliver the dopamine boost after each successful hunt against incredibly challenging monsters. The euphoric sensation after slaying a formidable monster after countless amount of failures is simply amazing.

Looking back when I was still a novice hunter, I was struggling to decide what weapon to stick to and my genuine advice is to properly try out each one of them and look up for guides on how to play the weapon optimally. Understand the monster you're hunting and practice your chosen weapon on them. With practice comes mastery.

Needless to say, MH:W is undeniably a gaming experience that cannot be found anywhere else, this is especially true when you have a group of friends to hunt with. Having friends to hunt with amplifies the experience further. Personally, seeing them get yeeted away, get one shotted by a certain monkey never fails to put a smile on my face.

Lastly, if you find yourself in a place called Elder's Recess do visit Dodogama, he's a good boi and he loves eating rocks :)
