Spider-Man 2 tells its story in high detail. It lets you see everything unlike telling you stuff like many other games. Insomniac surely took their time with the story and didn't mind the player watching minutes of cutscenes and I think that's the right choice. The storytelling is really powerful with deep characters as well as strong narrative moments throughout.


Gameplay is mostly, the same. But it was fun in the first game, yet again it's more fun here. The combat is tweaked with some additions like new abilities and some other things I don't want to spoil. The traversal again is the best part of the experience. Spider-Man 2 has only a few gameplay additions but maintains the same enjoyment level. Side content is once again, repetitive but they tried their best to diversify them. Spider-Man 2 games are the easiest 100% completions for me because of how polished and fun the gameplay is.

Optimization is very good here. I don't know what other people are experiencing with this port, but on my own fairly old rig, it runs smooth as butter. The graphics display remarkable improvement over the original game. The map is larger than the first game as well but it's no issue. Insomniac and Nixxes perfected visual fidelity and performance optimization specifically on PC.


The game contains forced woke elements that disrupt the game world experience because they do not belong there. We know that SBI worked for this title as well as among other "modern" games. Various story elements along with multiple character decisions are only for delivering messages rather than serving the progression of the plot. This is to be seen in most PlayStation titles since The Last of Us Part II and really feels unnecessary and damaging to the experiences.


There is no need to talk much about this one so I will keep it short. Playing Spider-Man 2 is the absolute best superhero game currently available through its excellent gameplay and storytelling along with its huge production quality and insane polish.
