I'm not really a fan of games like this, but I gave Hades the benefit of the doubt because of the positive reviews and that the story happened to be based on Greek mythology. This game keeps you learning and strategizing. Even if you lose, you're still rewarded with a sense of story progression with each death. There are different weapons to master so, for someone who isn't a fan of hack and slash, I did remarkably better with the bow. I think this game has a little something for everyone to enjoy.
