How Much Game You Got?
Playing Style

I mostly enjoy team-oriented gaming. Whether co-op or team vs team, I’m there to help my team win. I don’t care about stats or where I show up on the ladder, although all that stuff kinda’ comes anyway. I’m an aggressive player who readily helps teammates however I can. I also talk a lot — sometimes that annoys the stick-in-the-mud types, but I don’t care; I’m there to have fun with those who also want to have fun …and talk smack.

Gaming History

Yeah, I’m a veteran gamer …to say the least. I starting gaming in 1984 with Castle Wolfenstein on the Apple ][+. Back then I ran a BBS (for you kids, that’s basically a server with several telephone lines connected to it, four lines in my case). My friends would dial in on modem and we would play games like Wolfenstein, Doom II: Hell on Earth (1993) and Descent (1994). Everything ran on IPX/SPX, not TCP/IP.

In 1991 Spectrum HoloByte came out with Falcon 3.0 , a combat flight simulator, and I became addicted to it. No one had a screen name back then, but in fighter sims everybody had one. The movie Top Gun was still very well-known, and so I took “Iceman” and named myself “IceBags” …because that is a very ‘cool’ name. That’s been my screen name ever since.

Then came what is the grandfather of all modern FPS: Quake (1996). I went all in. For years I ran the Internet Quake Coalition (IQC) that hosted servers for dozens of clans, did tournaments, hosted communications and all the rest of it. Everyone played Quake . PCs were expensive and become practically obsolete in a matter a few months.

Half-Life (1998), but especially its total conversion Counter-Strike (1999) was the next game to totally capture my attention. I ran several servers for several years, but I also got into Unreal Tournament (1999), and I periodically played other titles as well: Fallout (1997), Age of Empires (1997), Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines (1998), Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six (1998), StarCraft (1998), Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun (1999) and Worms Armageddon (1999).

While I was busy with life, game developers kept busy, and in 2008 Valve released Left 4 Dead and then Left 4 Dead 2 in 2009. There is no game I have played more than L4D2. It never gets old — period.

Because I really enjoy heavy teamplay and FPS, I play a lot of Insurgency (2013) because it has a great community (except the woketard commies on TUG), players are mature and a lot of fun, and because the game has everything without all the glitzy fluff that takes away from the sheer fun of gameplay.

It’s hard to imagine a L4D killer or Insurgency killer, but if one is released, I will go all in.

World View

I’m a Voluntaryist-Traditionalist. I’m opinionated but also the epitome of live-and-let-live. Politically I am neither liberal nor conservative; I am libertarian (not the party though — those people are nuts, because all political parties are nuts), but I also have traditional values (but I don’t seek to impose them on everyone). I can’t stand political correctness or the woketard cowards who seek to control me when I say ‘inappropriate’ things — I don’t get along with emotional children. I’m actually a very cool dude …unless someone wants to be a douche bag to me, and then I go Next Level.

I can’t stand religion, but Faith is something very different. I can’t stand groupthink in any form, and I don’t respect the mental slaves who regurgitate talking points, recite half-baked self-contradicting arguments and can’t (or won’t) think for themselves. I don’t do well with stupid people …and most people are stupid little cowards who have reduced themselves to a barnyard animal …and I couldn’t possibly care less if someone finds that offensive.

I’m about as authentic as it gets. I’m a great friend and a fierce enemy. People tend to respect me or hate me. Regardless, I am who I am.

Bioshock is not merely a first-person-shooter but an excursion into Objectivism. The game is woven around the philosophy also found in The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged. If you know nothing of Objectivism and love gaming, you will thoroughly love this game.
