I own an M16A1 for FOB-defense since that’s what Eugene Stoner intended. Four Viet-Cong break through getting inside the wire. “What the ♥♥♥♥” as I grab my M16A1 and M34 “Willie Pete” grenade. I throw my M34 landing at the feet of the first two. It detonates burning them alive on the spot. I aim at the 3rd with my M16A1 and pull the trigger. “Click” the gun jams from too much mud in the chamber. I have to resort to the M40 105mm recoilless rifle mounted on a nearby jeep loaded with a “beehive” anti-personnel flechette round. “War is hell” I yell as I fire. Both men are shredded in the blast. The flechettes continue on and frag a nearby officer having a smoke in his tent. I get called a baby-killer after arriving back to the states from my tour. Just as General Westmoreland intended
