11/10 IGN "Its aight, just to much water"

The game does suffer from framerate drops when you zoom out on a large city doe. It shouldn't do that as my specs eat this games ♥♥♥♥♥ out like its pizza.

The new source port is pretty great. The wad is still intact too, same folders. Very good. Doom is amazing btw, theres no reason not to own it. It's just the best.

great game, but this version is simply unplayable in 2024. i clocked 32 hours into it years ago, when the thing actually ran properly. widescreen wasn't present when i originally played, still an issue now, but its become worse as you literally cannot change resolution, the game refuses to run in your native res, and i simply dont care enough to install patches and fixes like i did back then

go buy the BFG edition, as it can run in your native resolution and comes bundled with meh ports of doom 1 & 2. it seems as though the BFG edition is the only way to gain acheivements for doom 1&2, which is a major draw for me. why aren't acheivements present on the actual steam releases of doom 1 & 2, i dont know.... its strange considering bethesda went ahead an added an updated version of the doom engine onto the stand alone releases. why not add acheivements?

the resurrection of evil dlc is also bundled in with BFG edition, but also is a stand alone title... why???

this kind of junk only confuses and frustrates players, it comes off as lazy and unprofessional. it's not just bethesda up to this kind of thing, this seems to happen to every major developer's back catalog eventually, just look at the mess Rockstar is making with the 3d gta era games and the infamous definitive editions. let us buy SA on steam again!!

TL:DR - GO BUY THE BFG EDITION, THIS IS NOT A PLAYABLE VERSION OF DOOM 3.

VALVE, FFS, PLEASE CLEAN UP THE STORE, STOP DELISTING GAMES, ALLOW PATCHES TO BE RELEASED ON WORKSHOP FOR OLDER TITLES, LET THE COMMUNITY HANDLE THIS.

Oh boy, Ricochet.

Ricochet is probably the worst Valve game ever. This game feels like Tron. You know Tron? Where the people ride disks and throw motorcycles? Its just like that, just without motorcycles and any servers with more than 5 people on it because this game is @$$. You bounce around on these little neon platforms and shoot disks at people. Its bad. This game seems like it would call a flash game site its home, afterall the game only takes up 16mb of space on your computer. Whats really sad is that this game costs $5 on Steam. Luckily I got it in bundle. There are few servers running that actually have people playing. When you get onto one of those you relize that there are no dedicated servers for this game. Everyone on the server is running 100+ ping. Everyone is named Player for some reason and no one demonstrates any kind of skill in game. I ended up at the top of the leader boards within 2 minutes of joining a server, with 300 ping. Without anykind of tutorial or campaign your left to figure things out by yourself. I still don't understand what I'm doing but I guess I'm doing the right things because I'm destroying everyone on the server.

When you get tired of playing laggy multiplayer, you want to play with some skilled bots. Nope. No bots. ♥♥♥♥ this game man.

Yeah its free, thats the only redeeming quality it has.

This game has terrible level design. Most rooms are empty and have a couple zombies inside. Really, this game would be better off as a mod for Garry's mod. You got ♥♥♥♥ level design, ♥♥♥♥ AI and poor models. Gameplay is boring and clunky to.

Oh ♥♥♥♥. What the ♥♥♥♥ is that noise.

This thing is great. It can run on a Potato as smoothly as it possibly can. (Unless that Potato is running windows 10, it crashes every now and then.)
